New colours liven up the brand's cool square-shaped diver.
Talking about Bell & Ross means talking about square watches. The two go hand in hand, like a fine wine and a good piece of cheese. The brand became known for its circle-in-a-square design since the first BR 01 in 2005, and even today, Bell & Ross finds ways to keep it fresh and interesting. One of the stand-out models in the brand’s lineup has always been the BR 03-92 Diver, one of the very few, if not the only, diver with a square case. Sprucing up the latest version of the BR 03-92 Diver is a black & green wetsuit over a bronze case.
The BR 03-92 Diver retains the “old” design for the CuSn8 bronze case (the BR 03 was refreshed last year) and comes in at 42mm in width and length. On top, there’s a bronze unidirectional rotating bezel with a black anodized aluminium insert. The screw-down crown has a black rubber ring for added grip and is flanked by a pair of crown guards. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, while a solid caseback does the same for the movement.
Bell & Ross paints the new BR 03-92 Diver Bronze in a fresh teal-green colour, finished with blackened indices and hands. All of these are finished with Super-LumiNova, emitting a green glow in the dark. The minute track, as well as the other dial markings, such as the logo and the 300m water-resistant rating, are printed in white. At 04:30, a circular window makes way for a teal-green disc with white digits for the date, which is thankfully aligned horizontally.
Inside, we find the very familiar BR-CAL.302 movement, which is based on the automatic Sellita SW300-1. This runs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations/hour and has an extended power reserve of 54 hours. It’s covered by a steel caseback with a decorative engraving of a diver’s helmet and secured in place with a screw on each corner.
The new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Black & Green Bronze comes on a black rubber strap with a matte black PVD-coated pin buckle. A second, ultra-resilient synthetic fabric strap is also provided. Beautiful watch with a caveat: To freaking large! Why can’t Bell & Ross get the message: Build the new dive watch including other watches in sizes 37 or 38mm?
Completely agree! I would totally buy one of these models, few of them are killer. But the size, the size! Come on, size down to 39mm, I’d be all over one!
Agreed, it looks great but much too big so wouldn’t buy it.Crazy price for a basic movement too. Also, it’s black, green and bronze isn’t it? not black and green bronze.
