The NASA-Themed Awake Concept “Mission to Earth” (Live Pics & Price)
An accessible space-theme watch, with built-in NFC tag and a mission to protect the Earth.
Awake Concept is a young French watchmaking brand whose ambition is to innovate and promote alternative, more respectful and sustainable consumption. Their latest limited edition watch, Mission to Earth, was created to remind us of the importance to cherish the Earth. Observing Earth from space can help protect the planet. From there, we observe Earth’s beauty but also the changes that take place. The watch bears the NASA logo as the American space agency granted the use of its name within the framework of this project.
All white with red accents, the Awake Concept Mission to Earth is presented in a 40mm recycled titanium case. The crown screws down and the water resistance is rated at 100m. The dial is said to have been inspired by the panoramic observation window inside the International Space Station (ISS). It is framed by a red anodized aluminium flange engraved with the countdown that precedes rocket launches.
Turning the watch over, the transparent case back allows discovering the movement inside. A modified Miyota 9015, this automatic movement runs at a 4Hz frequency and can store up to 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound. A stop second mechanism allows for precise setting.
The Awake Mission to Earth comes on a white strap made of Biopoly, a bio-based polymer, derived from castor, a natural plant. It is released in a limited edition of 250 pieces. It is delivered in a metal box watch (inspired by space mission storage boxes) and it is accompanied by a meteorite fragment from the asteroid VESTA, which is over a billion years old and was found in Tunisia.
Last but not least, each Awake Concept Mission to Earth is fitted with a unique and unforgeable marker built into the watch, more precisely encrusted into the sapphire crystal. The non-intrusive ID GLASS technology works with an NFC tag. This solution was developed with the Swiss manufacturer STISS and the Arianee protocol. This guarantees the watch traceability and gives access to exclusive content from aboard the ISS. All you need to do is to place your phone next to the watch to get access to all information attached to your watch.
The price of the Awake Concept Mission to Earth is set at EUR 990. Pre-orders start on July 1st and deliveries are planned for September.

You can slap NASA on almost anything and sell the hell out of it. No offence to the watch maker.
Feel this would be half interesting at 495… at 990 it’s a pass.
