Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 Maintained Thanks to Physical-Digital Hybrid Format
The main watch fair of the year is confirmed and will be held physically and digitally.
After two years without being able to attend large watch fairs – Watches and Wonders as well as the now-defunct Baselworld- it seems that we’ll finally be returning to normal. Indeed, as the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie has just announced, the main watch event for 2022, the Watches and Wonders Geneva fair, is confirmed and will be held in Geneva at Palexpo. Nothing was certain given the sanitary situation and the doubts floating around due to Omicron. Thanks to its hybrid mix of physical and digital presence, as well as reinforced health measures, we (MONOCHROME and the rest of the watch community) will be reporting live from Geneva from the 30th of March. And that is something we’re delighted to share!
While the sanitary situation in Europe isn’t entirely solved and stable, the FHH has been working on preparing a specific format for its upcoming Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 that will allow it to be maintained and return to a physical presence after two years of digital-only events. Thanks to a “hybrid” format that has been designed to adapt to the changing context by combining an actual physical salon, which respects health measures, with digital solutions designed to reduce agglomerations, W&W Geneva 2022 is confirmed.
As such, the press and professionals of the watch industry will be able to visit the 38 brands that have now confirmed their presence for the 2022 edition of Watches and Wonders Geneva. Meetings will be focused on new products but there will also be live broadcasts, discussion panels, exhibitions… Throughout the week, the exhibiting brands will hold keynote sessions in the Auditorium. Announcements and speeches, mostly by brand leaders and ambassadors, will be broadcast live to the general public on the watchesandwonders.com platform. Finally, large group presentations (something we’ve never really liked here, at MONO) will be replaced by “Touch & Feel” sessions of around ten people. Of course, for those not able to attend the physical event, digital product presentations will be made. Every morning, there will also be a “Morning Show” that will include highlights of the day and cross-conversations between brand managers and experts.
Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 will open on the 30th of March at Palexpo and online. More details at watchesandwonders.com.
