The Cyrus Klepcys GMT Palm Editions for 10TenLabs

Two exclusive limited editions inspired by traditional Saudi architecture.

A phygital retailer with headquarters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 10TenLabs operates a hybrid online business – with physical activities in the form of lounges/galleries by appointment and a club dedicated to showcasing independent watchmakers. In celebration of the opening of their galleries in Saudi Arabia, 10TenLabs is launching the Klepcys GMT Palm Najid & Hijaz Editions in collaboration with indie watchmaker Cyrus. These two exclusive limited editions each draw inspiration from traditional Saudi architecture. The Salmon edition reflects the hues of the heritage houses found in the Najid region, while the blue edition is inspired by the vibrant turquoise doors of traditional homes in the Hijaz area.

The two limited edition watches are derived from the classic Cyrus Klepcys GMT. Crafted from grade 5 titanium, the 42mm cushion-shaped case boasts twin crowns. While its display may initially appear perplexing, this user-friendly GMT watch indicates local time through conventional central hour and minute hands, while the home time is displayed by a 24-hour retrograde hand and appears highly intuitive and practical in real life.

The palm-shaped skeletonised upper bridge features a galvanic treatment for the salmon Najid edition and a turquoise blue ALD (atomic layer deposition) coating for the Hijaz edition. The hour numerals are elegantly positioned on a sapphire ring, creating the illusion of floating above the dial. The angled minute flange features luminescent five-minute indicators. A retrograde hand with a triangular luminescent tip for easy reading indicates the second time zone on a 24-hour lacquered ring. The adjustment of the second time zone is conveniently done via the crown located at 9 o’clock. Lastly, the helix-shaped small seconds hand, reminiscent of Cyrus’ logo, features one arm filled with luminescent material for enhanced visibility.

The Klepcys GMT houses the automatic calibre CYR708, meticulously crafted in-house by Cyrus. Situated in Le Locle, the workshop of the independent watchmaking brand is under the guidance of Jean-François Mojon. It is located in the same building as Mojon’s movement development and production company, Chronode. This large 38mm movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz, offering a power reserve of 55 hours from a single barrel. Both the intricately openworked dial and the exhibition caseback provide a glimpse into this movement. The rotor features an openworked design echoing the palm design of the dial. The decoration includes NAC-treated bridges embellished with a sunray pattern, bead-blasted finish and bevelled edges.

The Cyrus Klepcys GMT x 10tenlabs editions are worn on a grey Cordura strap with black stitching. It is secured to the wrist by a titanium folding clasp with the Cyrus logo. It comes with a spare black rubber strap. The price is set at USD 26,500, and these will be exclusively available from 10TenLabs.
