The Brellum Pandial LE.5 DD DLC Full Black
An all-black version of Brellum's compelling Panda-style chronograph.
Founded by Sébastien Muller, Brellum is an independent boutique brand that specialises in manufacturing vintage-inspired chronographs at attainable prices without compromising the specifications and the overall quality. An evolution of the brand’s Duobox Chronograph, the Pandial debuted in 2017. Following the release of several editions, the model now comes in a stealthier, dark, monochromatic version that abandons the two-tone dial theme – meet the Brellum Pandial DD DLC Full Black.
The Pandial is a vintage-inspired chronograph with pump-style pushers. This no-nonsense design comes with a twist, however. Like the Duobox, the case is fitted with two box sapphire crystals, one at the front to protect the dial and one at the back to reveal the movement. In addition, this unusual construction allows for a thinner case band, given the movement powering the watch. Like previous Pandial editions, this all-black model has a 43mm wide case. The black colour is achieved by applying a DLC coating over a stainless-steel case. The tachymeter scale on the bezel brings a sporty touch. Last, the water-resistance rating is 10ATM / 100 meters.
If, as the name suggests, most of the previous versions of the Pandial had two-tone dials with contrasting counters, this new version stands out with its black dial… Blacked-out watches have always been in style, and the monochromatic scheme allows the watch’s intricate details to stand out. The diamond-cut hour and minute hands are paired with faceted applied indices. The use of luminescent material ensures good readability in all conditions.
Turning the watch over, the exhibition caseback provides a view of the automatic Brellum calibre BR-750-2, based on the tried-and-tested Valjoux 7750. As such, we have a cam-and-lever chronograph ticking at 28,800vph with about two days of power reserve. Besides the hours, minutes, seconds and chronograph, the watch also has a day date indication. The movement decoration includes stripes, perlage and blued screws. The blackened rotor is personalised. Last but not least, the precision of each movement is certified by the COSC.
The Brellum Pandial LE.5 DD DLC full Black Chronometer is released in a limited edition of 33 pieces. It is delivered with an integrated Nebur Tec strap with a black DLC stainless steel deployment buckle and a black DLC stainless steel bracelet. It also comes with tools for you to swap these. Price is set at CHF 2,990 or EUR 3,450, and just like other Brellum watches, it is available exclusively online on the brand’s website.
