With a multitude of new brands entering the market every year, it is difficult to stand out. Founded by Thibault Luc and Bruno Herbet, Voxel has chosen to do just that with its debut watch. The Meridian VX01-E sets itself apart with a singular design and, above all, an original self-developed jumping complication that allows the watch to change its face every twelve hours, switching between 12- and 24-hour time indications.

Voxel is an independent young watch brand born from a project initiated four years ago, following the meeting of French creative director and entrepreneur Thibaut Luc and Swiss technical director Bruno Herbet. With a background spanning technology, entrepreneurship, art, architecture and design, Thibaut Luc brings a creative and contemporary vision to the brand, while Bruno Herbet, a microtechnology engineer from the Vallée de Joux, brings more than fifteen years of experience in the development, prototyping and industrialisation of watch movements, acquired behind the scenes of some of Switzerland’s most prestigious watchmaking houses. Together, they have shaped Voxel, with Thibaut Luc overseeing its creative direction and Bruno Herbé leading its technical vision and development.

The Voxel Meridion is presented in a robust, multi-layered decagonal case in brushed and polished 904L stainless steel and titanium, featuring a pronounced angular profile. The faceted lugs are independent and affixed to the case body. The crown has a circular, finely ridged coin-edge outer rim that frames an octagonal flat section emblazoned with a pixelated horizontal infinity symbol. Water resistance is rated at 120m.

Available in charcoal grey, electric blue or silver star colours, the dial Voxel Meridion VX01-E features a layered layout designed around its complication. The granulated centre section features a crosshair. It is surrounded by a raised ring with 12 circular and diamond-shaped cutouts that reveal the alternating hour digits or dots. Positioned at 11 o’clock is a small AM/PM indicator that alternatively shows a sun or a moon. For an extra touch of originality and enhanced after-dark presence, the disc alternating the 12- and 24-hour time indications is covered with luminescent material (SuperLuminova BGW9).

Turning the watch over, the faceted grade 5 titanium case back is secured by 8 screws. Behind a metal cross-section, its two slightly smoked sapphires allow you to discover the automatic movement and its slope casing ring (the plate for the complication module is also used as a casing ring). It is based on the Soprod Newton, so you get a 4Hz calibre with a full balance bridge, Incabloc shock protection and a 44-hour power reserve. The hacking second allows for precise time setting. What makes the Meridion calibre special, however, is the 12/24-hour module developed by Bruno Herbet that changes the face of your watch every 12 hours and rotates a disc alternately in one direction and then the other.

The Voxel Meridion VX01-E comes on an Alcantara strap (available in 6 colours) featuring a relief pattern of horizontal channels, creating a three-dimensional texture. The pin buckle echoes the angular design of the case. There is also an integrated 904L steel option that is fitted with a spring-mounted butterfly folding clasp. These can be swapped in seconds thanks to quick-release spring bars.

The price is set at EUR 2,500 (exc. taxes) on an Alcantara strap and EUR 2,850 (exc. taxes) on an integrated steel bracelet. Pre-orders start October 1st on the brand’s website. First deliveries are scheduled from February 2027. For more details, please visit voxelwatches.com.

  1. Suitably refreshing, pleasant and nit even outrageously priced. I wish them well.
