Although MONOCHROME has always been about high-end mechanical watches, we manage to find (and show to you) a nice value proposition from time to time. One brand that stands out from our ‘value proposition’ crowd is a watch that is A) very affordable and B) very cool and C) very well build. It’s the Dan Henry 1970 Automatic Diver and we’re giving one of the new 40mm versions away.
Who is Dan Henry
In the abundance of affordable watches, it often hard to find a watch that is so much better than the league it plays in. What Dan Henry managed to do, is to rise (far) above its own ‘budgetary league’. And it all started with his passion for collecting nice watches. If you, for instance, check out Dan Henry’s website, and in particular the timeline.watch page, you can see all the watches that he collected. He also spent a lot of time photographing his collection, gathering information about each and every watch, and making that information available on the timeline.watch page. You can easily say that Dan Henry, as a collector, is a passionate guy, who wants to share his passion and knowledge for nice vintage watches.
This is also how he came to the idea to design watches, heavily inspired by his favourite vintage watches, and to make them available to everyone. Price point of all Dan Henry watches is low, very low. And the build quality is remarkably good for the price! It gives me great pleasure to be able to give one of the new 40mm 1970 Automatic Diver to one of our readers. Here you can order one for only USD 250: danhenrywatches.com
