The sporty Tsuyosa Shore gets the vintage-inspired Time Slip treatment, with a grained smoked-black dial and warm-gold accents.
The Citizen Tsuyosa is one of the strongest contenders in the affordable automatic sports watch segment. Launched in 2022, the collection has steadily expanded with new sizes, colours and specifications, most recently gaining a more adventurous personality with the 100m water-resistant Tsuyosa Shore, equipped with a rotating bezel. Now, Citizen combines the sporty design of the Shore with the nostalgic styling of last year’s popular “Time Slip” 37mm edition; meet the new Tsuyosa Shore Time Slip Limited Edition.
The stainless steel case remains unchanged from the Shore collection, and for that matter, all larger versions of the Tsuyosa. Measuring 40mm in diameter and 12.5mm thick, it boasts the integrated-inspired silhouette that has become a hallmark of the Tsuyosa line. It features brushed surfaces and polished accents, a recessed crown at 4 o’clock, and a sapphire crystal with a magnifying lens over the date. The transparent caseback also returns, allowing a view of the automatic movement inside. Instead of the smooth bezel of the standard Tsuyosa, the Shore edition features a unidirectional rotating bezel, here with a retro-styled gold-coloured 60-minute scale. Water resistance is rated at 100m, sufficient for casual swimming.
For the dial, Citizen borrows the successful “Time Slip” theme introduced on the 37mm Tsuyosa and adapts it to the Shore. The dial has a finely grained texture with a smoked black gradient finish. Prominent gold-coloured hands and applied hour markers are treated with luminous material, and the matching dial printing reinforces the retro look. Unlike the brightly coloured Shore models introduced earlier this year, this edition offers a more restrained, almost nostalgic aesthetic inspired by the watches of the 1970s and 1980s.
The watch is powered by Citizen’s in-house automatic Calibre 8210. Beating at 21,600 vibrations/hour, it offers approximately 42 hours of power reserve and supports hacking seconds. It remains a proven movement that has powered much of the Tsuyosa collection since its introduction. It is worn on the same comfortable three-link stainless steel bracelet as the other Shore models, with brushed and polished finishes to match the case.
