The New Brellum Pandial LE.3 DD DLC Chronometer (Live Pics & Price)
In a full-contact fight, the black panda beats the competition.
Independent watchmaker Brellum just took the veil off its latest creation, the last limited edition model to be released by this young brand in 2022. It is primarily black, and it looks beautiful. The Pandial LE.3 DD DLC Chronometer comes black-tie dressed, and is an evolution of the black-and-white Pandial LE.2DD Chronometer. There was also the white-and-blue Pandial LE.1 Chronometer. The LE.2DD and LE.1 were issued in limited series of 33 each, the LE.3 DD DLC is limited to only 17 watches worldwide. Brellum (since 2016) is the creation of Sébastien Muller, who represents the 4th generation of watchmakers. He spent over 20 years in the field before embarking on this adventure. This independent Swiss brand produces less than 300 watches per year, emphasizing chronometer-certified chronographs, which Brellum offers at reasonable prices. This pricing is possible thanks to the Internet site and social networks. “These allow me to market my timepieces directly from the watchmaker to the enthusiast and thus offer an affordable luxury watchmaking experience”, says Muller.
The affordable new Pandial LE.3 DD DLC has a price tag of just north of 3k euros. Let us see what is in the package. The watch measures 43mm in diameter and is 15.9mm thick; the case is made of steel and is black DLC-coated. A perfect-looking bezel shows a white print of the tachymeter scale and frames a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating inside. The dial is white opaline with plenty of black elements. The minute ring is black with a white print, and the sub-dials at 6 and 12 are pitch-black, with guilloche concentric circles. The seconds counter at 9 with a black ring around it resembles a cross-hairs, perhaps intentionally.
Diamond-cut indexes are impeccable, with a black stripe that runs the length and a SuperLumiNova-filled tip. The hour and minute hands are diamond-cut and with luminous material, and the central seconds hand is polished, in line with the indexes. The space at 3 o’clock is occupied with a “don’t mess with me” Brellum logo, an aperture for the day and date, and a chronometer indication, with water resistance info (100m/333ft) at the bottom of this “data block”. The chronograph push-buttons and the decorated crown are black-coated too.
Turn the watch over, and the exhibition stainless steel black DLC caseback, will not disappoint you. Powering the Brellum Pandial LE.3 DD DLC Chronometer is the BR-750-2 calibre, a well-known and reliable Swiss automatic chronograph movement, the Valjoux 7750, only fully decorated and COSC-certified. Notice Cotes de Geneve stripes and perlage; there are blue screws, a Brellum partially skeletonised rotor with DLC-coating, polished components and more. It has 25 jewels, Incabloc, Glucydur Balance, and Nivarox-Anachron hairspring and operates on 28,800 vibrations/hour, with a 46-hour power reserve. The caseback ring, with six black screws, provides plenty of information about the watch, all of which is “black-tinted” as if to add some secret-agent mood.
The Brellum Pandial LE.3 DD DLC Chronometer is delivered with an Integrated Nebur Tec strap with a black DLC stainless steel deployment buckle and a black DLC Stainless steel bracelet and tools for you to play with. Shipping worldwide is included in the price of EUR 3,350 or CHF 2,990. For more information about Sébastien Muller and his brand, please visit www.brellum.swiss.
