The Green Bovet Récital 30 Worldtimer Seddiqi Limited Edition
A special version of the ingenious worldtimer to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the UAE's leading luxury retailer.
Bovet‘s Récital line has always been where Pascal Raffy lets invention roam free: oversized domes, theatrical displays and genuinely mindblowing complications. The Récital 30 continues that tradition while making a pragmatic, travel-ready turn. Launched as a scaled-down, wearable sibling to the Récital 28, the Récital 30 focuses on one problem and solves it elegantly with true, year-round world time. The Seddiqi Limited Edition unveiled at Dubai Watch Week gives the model a localised, celebratory expression for Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons’ 75th Anniversary.
The Dimier-style case of the Bovet Récital 30, like standard editions, measures 42mm across and 12.9mm thick, giving the watch a compact yet significant presence on the wrist. The cases are now crafted in-house at Bovet’s Tramelan facility, and the Seddiqi edition is offered in either grade 5 titanium or 18k red gold, both with alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces. The ergonomic lugs feature elegant cut-outs, and the crown is capped with a blue sapphire cabochon, a subtle Bovet hallmark. On the reverse, the caseback is laser-engraved with the Seddiqi 75th anniversary emblem and the limited-edition number, displayed in Eastern Arabic numerals. The case is water-resistant to 30m.
The Récital 30 distinguishes itself by its roller-based world time display, inherited from the fascinating Récital 28. The dial is composed of 26 rollers: 24 city rollers, a time-period roller (UTC / AST / EAS / EWT) and a 24-hour world time roller. The central 24-hour disc and a day/night indicator provide an immediate readout; the green guilloché surrounding the indicator honours Dubai, which is highlighted in red on the roller and printed in Arabic.
Two pushers on the case flank perform the main setting operations: the top pusher rotates all city rollers 90° to select the current DST regime, while the lower pusher advances the central 24-hour ring by one hour per push. The system also accounts for half-hour offsets and, once set, presents accurate local and world times across the year via a central handset. For this special edition, New Delhi is no longer marked on the minutes track as on the inaugural references, and there´s no dedicated extra minutes hand.
Powering the Récital 30 is Bovet’s in-house self-winding calibre R30-70-001. Built over six years of development, the 33.5mm movement comprises 373 components, operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and stores 62 hours of reserve. This edition benefits from a new, partially opened oscillating weight.
The Seddiqi Récital 30 is limited to seven numbered pieces, each engraved with Eastern Arabic numerals on the back; straps offered are a Dubai-Green rubber strap (in keeping with the edition’s colours) or full-skin alligator. The Bovet Récital 30 Seddiqi Edition is priced at CHF 68,000 in titanium and CHF 96,800 in red gold; this seven-piece edition is available exclusively through Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
