Bovet is a name synonymous with artistry and haute horlogerie, its timepieces often balancing traditional decorative crafts with very complex mechanics. Under the guidance of Pascal Raffy, the company has become one of the most vertically integrated manufactures in Switzerland, producing everything from cases and dials to hairsprings in-house. In 2023, the brand took a step in a more casual direction with the Récital 12, its first timepiece on a bracelet. The line now expands with two new editions featuring stone dials in Malachite and Tiger’s Eye.

The Récital 12 uses Bovet’s Dimier-style case in Grade 5 titanium measuring 40mm in diameter and 9.8mm thick, looking refined while retaining a sporty presence. The case features sapphire crystals front and back, and has a 30m water resistance.

Visible on the dial side is the hand-wound calibre with an inverted architecture, comprising 227 components. It features an off-centre display for the hours and minutes at 3 o´clock, a three-pronged running seconds at 9, and a power reserve indicator at the top. The movement provides a 7-day autonomy, and is finished up to Bovet’s exacting standards, with Geneva stripes, chamfered bridges, and blued screws.

The highlight of the new release is the use of natural stone time dials, which the brand says is the first time in 200 years of its history. The Malachite version reveals vivid green striations while the Tiger’s Eye brings golden-brown tones with a dynamic light effect. Both stones are notoriously difficult to work with, requiring ultra-thin slices, reinforced metal backings, and polishing to achieve stability without losing their natural shine.

Both the Malachite and Tiger’s Eye Récital 12 models are limited to 60 pieces each. The watches are delivered on the titanium bracelet in matching the case finishes, which incorporates a folding clasp with a discreet 3mm fine adjustment system. When the clasp closes, the V-shaped links form an infinity symbol.

Bovet Récital 12 models come with a five-year warranty. Both are priced at CHF 29,800 (excl. taxes). For more information, please visit Bovet.com.
