Bell & Ross Goes HUD-Style with the new BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic

The latest member of Bell & Ross’s unusual Radar family comes in a smaller ceramic case, now with three moving aircraft, including a drone, and green luminous trails on the dial.

For the most part, Bell & Ross watches are immediately recognisable, but the Radar series holds the prize. The concept first appeared in 2010 with the BR-01 Radar, replacing conventional hands with concentric discs inspired by aviation radar screens. A year later, the BR-01 Red Radar added the red-tinted crystal, and the concept returned in 2014 as the 42mm BR-03 Red Radar. In 2021, the BR-03-92 Red Radar Ceramic introduced two aircraft-shaped indicators flying across the dial, in a 42mm ceramic case.

For 2026, Bell & Ross gives a new colour to the display designed to mimic an airborne surveillance screen, and adjusts the proportions, in line with the range update. Measuring 41mm, the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic becomes the most compact version of the ceramic Radar yet, while its green-tinted sapphire crystal creates quite a different atmosphere from the earlier red editions. More importantly, the display now merges features of the 2011 Red Radar with the aircraft concept of the 2021 watch.

The BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic is housed in Bell & Ross’s familiar square 41mm case, measuring 10.6mm thick and made from microblasted black ceramic. The case is topped with a sapphire crystal tinted green throughout and treated with an anti-reflective coating. The solid back is engraved with the three aircraft represented on the dial (Falcon, Rafale and Neuron). Water resistance is 100m.

The fixed hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12, plus graduations and a target-style marking provide the reference points needed to read the unusual display. While the 2021 Red Radar Ceramic used two discs for the hours and minutes and a central seconds hand styled as a radar sweep, the new watch returns to a three-disc design. Three superimposed rotating discs replace traditional hands, with each one carrying a different aircraft treated with Dark Green Super-LumiNova.

The outermost Falcon indicates the hours, the Rafale tracks the minutes, completing one revolution in 12 hours and 60 minutes, respectively. The Neuron (an experimental stealth uncrewed combat aerial vehicle) handles the seconds with its own “high-speed” 60-second rotation. What makes this version interesting is the addition of luminous trails behind the aircraft that mimic the sweeping marks aircraft leave on an actual radar screen, bringing together two ideas that had previously appeared separately in the Radar collection.

The new Green Radar Ceramic is powered by the automatic BR-CAL.327 (Sellita SW300-1 base, a clone of the ETA 2892-2), offering a 54-hour power reserve and operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour to drive the three separate discs.  The watch is worn on a black rubber strap, with an additional ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap provided, both secured by a black PVD-finished steel pin buckle.

Limited to 999 pieces, the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic continues one of Bell & Ross’s most unconventional families while adding a colourway that gives the concept a completely different character. The price is EUR 4,900. For more details and orders, please visit bellross.com.
