The New Skipper-Inspired Baltic Scalegraph Limited Edition
A limited edition to celebrate Baltic's first participation as Official Timekeeper of the Transat Café L'Or.

Besides their accessible dress watches and fairly-priced yet robust retro-inspired divers, Baltic has long been all about race cars and vintage motorsport competitions (not really a surprise when you know the founders’ passion). The connection between cars and watches is obvious, and Baltic materialised it with several Tour Auto-themed models, the latest in line being the Scalegraph Tour Auto 2025. An evolution of the Tricompax collection, the Scalegraph comes back this year in a new regatta-themed version, as Baltic becomes the Official Timekeeper of the Transat Café L’Or.
Regarded as an institution in offshore racing, the French Transat Café L’Or is a true highlight of the sailing calendar. Held for over 20 years, this double-handed race runs between Europe and America. Extremely demanding, this sailing trial requires skippers to demonstrate determination, courage and resilience. Finishing is an achievement in itself. Baltic will be taking part in the 17th edition of the transatlantic race, as the Official Timekeeper, starting Sunday, October 26th in Le Havre, with 74 crews setting sail for Martinique. Baltic will also be supporting a Class40 team led by skipper Lomano Takasi.
To celebrate this new partnership, Baltic unveils a new version of its vintage-inspired and appealing Scalegraph chronograph watch, modified to reflect a regatta-inspired look. For most of it, this new edition of the Scalegraph retains the same architecture as the Tour Auto 2025 edition, starting with its fairly compact case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 14.1mm in thickness. Made of brushed steel, with drilled lugs and screwed pushers to enhance water-resistance (100m), it features a new blue bezel insert in brushed aluminium with a sailing tachymeter scale, framing a box-shaped sapphire. Graduated in knots over 1/10th nautical mile, it allows the skipper to measure the average speed a sailing boat could achieve.
Some evolutions are also to be noted on the dial of this Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or Limited Edition, starting with the move from a tri-register display to a bi-compax layout, where the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock is replaced by a date window. The base of the dial opts for a metallic champagne colour, a white minute scale with lumed dots and the same original applied markers. The ringed sub-counters have an off-white base, but the 3 o’clock big-eye counter is a bit special. To match the regatta theme, the trio-colour counter is now graduated in reverse over 15 minutes, allowing skippers to monitor the start of the race.
Under the solid back with dedicated engravings is a Sellita-sourced movement, the calibre SW511 BH. This hand-wound chronograph with cam and lever architecture derived from the Valjoux 7750 runs at 4Hz and stores a comfortable 63-hour power reserve.
Delivered with a stainless steel beads-of-rice bracelet and an additional off-white FKM rubber strap (both with quick-release spring bars), the Baltic Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or Limited Edition will be made in 200 pieces and is now available from the brand’s website at EUR 1,750 (excl. taxes) or EUR 2,100 (incl. EU taxes). For more details, please visit baltic-watches.com.
