The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon in “Bleu Nuit, Nuage” Ceramic

Audemars Piguet has long embraced new materials and continues to expand its ceramics expertise, revealing a striking new version of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon. While the base of this 41mm model itself is familiar, the news is its material: the entire watch, case, bezel, crown and integrated bracelet are executed in “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” ceramic, the iconic deep blue shade developed by Stern Frères for the first dials of the Royal Oak Jumbo, achieved by adding black pigment No. 50 to the protective lacquer. Introduced as a ceramic colour in 2025, it appeared on selected Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore models, including the RO Perpetual Calendar, but had never been featured across the complete architecture of the Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon.

The watch retains the familiar 41mm case measuring 10.6mm in height, with 50m water-resistance. The alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces are hand-finished, preserving the sharp facets and crisp lines that define the collection. The case is topped with a glareproof sapphire crystal; the caseback crystal, held by a titanium frame, received the same treatment. The integrated bracelet, also crafted from “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” ceramic, is secured with a titanium AP folding clasp.

Continuing the monochromatic theme, the dial features a matching “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” Grande Tapisserie pattern with white gold applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands filled with luminescent material. At 6 o’clock, the rhodium-toned lying tourbillon appears to float beneath the dial thanks to its bridge-free construction. The restrained display, limited to hours, minutes and the flying tourbillon, allows the complication to remain the focus.

The watch is powered by the in-house calibre 2950, the automatic flying tourbillon movement first introduced in the Code 11.59 collection before making its way into the Royal Oak. It beats at 21,600 vibrations/hour and delivers a 65-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement showcases the traditional finishing, including Côtes de Genève, circular graining, polished bevels and a rhodium-toned 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight.

The new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 Ceramic 26730CD joins the permanent collection. The price is available upon request (expected to be around CHF 210,000). More information at audemarspiguet.com.
