The Dual Time GMT Resonance is one of Armin Strom’s signature creations, first launched in 2018, revisited in 2024 and presented in several distinctive editions, including the steel-cased Black Edition, the rose-gold version with a black-and-gold dial, and, most recently, the Aventurine edition. Now, the new Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue offers a different look, combining a deep blue movement with crisp white dials.

The 39mm stainless steel case retains the proportions of the earlier references, measuring 9.05mm thick and 44.5mm lug-to-lug. With sapphire crystals on both the front and back, each treated with an anti-reflective coating, the case provides an unobstructed view of the elaborate mechanics. The restrained exterior remains deliberately secondary to the mechanism within, while the two crowns at 4 and 8 o’clock allow each time zone to be adjusted independently. Water resistance is 50m.

On the front, two finely grained white dials are surrounded by white azurage chapter rings, contrasting with the blue PVD-coated mainplate. Blue PVD-coated indices and faceted, polished hands continue the colour theme, and each display incorporates a polished black day/night indicator with images of the sun and a crescent moon.

Like its predecessors, the watch is powered by the manufacture ARF22, a manual-winding calibre developed, produced and finished in-house. Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch connects two independent regulating systems and allows their balance wheels to oscillate in resonance. Operating at 25,200 vibrations/hour, the movement provides a 42-hour power reserve.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the blue mainplate features laser-engraved relief lettering, accompanied by two matching blue gear-train bridges. The rhodium-coloured barrel bridge receives Côtes de Genève. Black-polished elements, polished bevells, circular graining and perlage complete the hand-finishing, creating a cool mixture of traditional decoration and contemporary colour.

The watch is worn on a matte dark blue alligator strap with white stitching, closed with a stainless steel pin buckle. Limited to 50 pieces, the Dual Time GMT Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue is priced at CHF 95,000. More information at arminstrom.com.
