Visiting Lang & Heyne, a Proper High-End Watch Brand from Germany
The Lang & Heyne Anton Manufaktur Edition features some of the most spectacularly finished bridges we've ever seen.
Earlier this year, we visited Lang & Heyne in the outskirts of Dresden, Germany. Dresden is close to the small town of Glashütte, which we all know as the heart of German watchmaking. When we visited that small town, it was only logical that we would pay a visit to Lang & Heyne, which is one of these confidential high-end watch brands that many people hardly know but which make magnificent timepieces! So a few months later, we returned with a video camera to capture the essence of what this small but ohhh so interesting watch brand does.
There’s something special about this brand. It remains one of the few proper high-end watchmakers from Germany, where a huge percentage (95%) of each movement is made in-house. Everything is finished internally to pretty impressive levels! And that’s something that we, at MONOCHROME, just love. It’s the attention to detail, the passion of the folks working there and also the very own style of watches they make. Their triple-lug design is probably one of the most recognizable features, and of course, there’s far more to it when you take a closer look.
And that’s what we did. We talked with some of the watchmakers and with the brand’s CEO, Alexander Gutierrez Diaz, to get a better understanding of what makes a Lang & Heyne watch. We focused on the spectacular Anton Manufaktur Edition as a guideline to see what is done in-house. The tourbillon of this watch seems to be floating in thin air and is such a feast for the eye. Just like the spectacular finishing of the movement, the outstanding quality of the case, the dial, the hands and actually, everything about the watch. While this might sound like something you have heard before, I challenge you to take a good look at the rounded bridges visible on the backside of the movement to see some of the most spectacular finished bridges you can find in the world of watches. And that’s just the bridges…
I hope you will enjoy watching our video and discovering Lang & Heyne as much as we enjoyed visiting them in Dresden! More info at Lang-und-Heyne.de.

Lang & Heyne make beautiful timepieces. But they are certainly not a great investment prospect (if you see them and treat watches as such). Great to see a feature video on this watchmaker. But too much focus on the Anton manufaktur in this video. You should have reviewed and shown their other models too and reviewed some of the watches in their range.
