The New Trilobe Une Folle Journée Rhodium-plated Editions in Blue, Green and Black
Sometimes, new colours are all you need for a refreshed appeal.

Trilobe is a young, independent watch brand founded by Gautier Massonneau in 2013. The brand debuted its first timepiece, Les Matinaux – French for The Morning Ones and a tribute to René Char’s poetry collection – in 2018. Distinguished by its unconventional time display, Les Matinaux introduced an original system developed by Jean-François Mojon of Chronode – the watch featured three stationary indicators, shaped like the brand’s trefoil logo, that pointed to rotating discs to display the time. The design was well received and set the foundation for future Trilobe creations.
In 2022, Trilobe presented Une Folle Journée, an evolution of the concept introduced by Les Matinaux. The Une Folle Journée eliminated the base dial for a more architectural and modern aesthetic. Its eccentric, floating discs expose the intricate mechanics, all housed within a dramatically domed sapphire crystal. The time display retained its signature three concentric indications: hours on the outermost ring, minutes in the middle, and seconds at the centre.
The baseplate for the 2025 Une Folle Journée series is now rhodium-plated, while the titanium hour, minute, and second rings – adorned with pad-printed numerals – are DLC-coated in blue, green, or black. The 40.5mm case, crafted from Grade 5 titanium, combines mirror-polished and satin-brushed finishes for a striking contrast. It is water-resistant to 50 meters and is topped with a domed sapphire crystal measuring 1.2mm thick.
Powering the watch is the proprietary X-Centric calibre, developed in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogers. This micro-rotor movement, visible through the sapphire caseback, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 48-hour power reserve.
Each of the Trilobe Une Folle Journée Rhodium-plated Editions is paired with a leather strap secured by a pin buckle. The price is EUR 20,400 (excluding tax). For more details, visit trilobe.com.
