The New Trilobe Trente-Deux Secret Edition
A personalised celestial dial joins the collection, alongside a new rose gold execution.
Founded in 2018, Trilobe chose to build its collection around an unconventional way of displaying time. Instead of hands, the brand relies on rotating rings and fixed pointers, creating a constant sense of motion across the dial. This concept, first seen in Les Matinaux and Nuit Fantastique, was later adapted for a sportier Trente-Deux. This model also introduced the brand’s first in-house movement, the X-Nihilo calibre. The new Trente-Deux Secret Edition returns with a constellation dial, now a fully personalised feature.
The Trente-Deux case retains its measurements, 39.5mm in diameter and 10.15mm in height, and it is constructed from seven elements with a mix of satin-brushed, microblasted and polished finishes. The fluted bezel features polished ridges and recessed grooves. The integrated design ensures continuity between the case and bracelet or strap. Alongside the stainless steel version, Trilobe now introduces an 18k rose gold edition with a dark blue rubber strap. Water-resistance remains rated at 50m.
Building on the brand’s constellation motif, the dial for each piece is now configured according to a specific date, time and location chosen by the client. Using astronomical calculations based on the work of Belgian meteorologist and astronomer Jean Meeus, the exact positions of the stars are reproduced, resulting in a unique star map for every watch. The constellations are pad-printed in successive layers of metallic pigment, creating subtle relief and depth against a lacquered background, with the stars appearing suspended above the dial.
This star map is combined with Trilobe’s signature display. Hours, minutes, and seconds are indicated by rotating rings via three fixed pointers. Finishing includes sunray-brushed surfaces and a seconds wheel combining azuré and Clou de Paris guilloché. The circular flange boasts a satin- and mirror-polished finish.
The X-Nihilo calibre, Trilobe’s in-house automatic movement developed and assembled in Paris, operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a 42-hour power reserve. It drives the three rotating rings through a patented mechanism. The movement, visible through the sapphire caseback, features contemporary architecture, an openworked rotor, and nicely executed finishes.
The steel version is delivered with an integrated bracelet; a rubber strap is available at an additional cost. The rose gold model comes exclusively on a textured rubber strap with a matching folding clasp. The Trilobe Trente-Deux Secret Edition is priced at EUR 21,500 (excl. taxes) in steel, and EUR 39,500 (excl. taxes) in 18k rose gold. Each piece is made to order.
