The New Parmigiani Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante with an Arctic Rose Dial
A handsome combination for the "now you see me, now you don't" rattrapante minute hand.
Parmigiani Fleurier’s turnaround, orchestrated by CEO Guido Terreni, is remarkable because it has been achieved on the back of one collection: the Tonda PF. Introduced just four years ago, the Tonda PF family now accounts for 85% of the brand’s sales. Often described as the brand’s luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet, the adjective “luxury” could be replaced with “refined” or “understated” to convey the sophisticated aesthetics of the collection. More than just a pretty face, Parmigiani knows how to incorporate user-friendly complications without disturbing the serene soul of the Tonda PF. Introduced in 2023, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante features an ingenious complication that measures elapsed minutes on demand. The latest iteration of this delightful complication is now presented in a stainless steel case, paired with an Arctic Rose dial.
Marking a world first, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante drew inspiration from the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante. Released in 2022 and fully explained here, the GMT Rattrapante features two superimposed hour hands in different materials and is designed to provide travellers with a discreet yet practical companion, in line with the collection’s characteristic discretion.
Using the same concept as the GMT Rattrapante, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante also relies on two superimposed minute hands. Like a graduated bezel on a dive watch, the 18k rose gold rattrapante hand can be set to the desired interval to measure the time, for instance, it takes to boil pasta. The pusher at 8 o’clock advances the rose gold hand in 5-minute increments, while the one at 10 o’clock advances it in 1-minute increments. When the two hands are aligned, the period has elapsed. Just like a rattrapante, the gold hand can be returned to its hideout using the gold pusher integrated into the crown.
The new stainless steel version shares the same specifications as earlier editions: a 40mm case with a thickness of 10.7mm, the signature hand-knurled platinum bezel, teardrop-shaped lugs, and an integrated bracelet, all decorated with alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces. Other details of the 60m water-resistant case include the rose gold pusher in the crown that matches the skeletonised rose gold rattrapante hand on the dial, and the two teardrop-shaped pushers at 8 and 10 o’clock to advance the minute hand.
Decorated with the signature hand-guilloché grain d’orge or barleycorn motif of the collection, the dial flaunts a lovely pale rose colour. The only furnishings on the dial are the three skeletonised, gold, delta-shaped hands, the hand-applied gold indices, and the gold oval PF cartouche at noon.
The watch is powered by an evolution of the brand’s classic micro-rotor movement with a module for the rattrapante function. Calibre PF052 beats at 21,600vph, delivers a 48h power reserve and is finely decorated with Geneva stripes, perlage and a solid 22k gold rotor decorated with a guilloché pattern.
The new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Stainless Steel Arctic Rose is released as part of the permanent collection and retails for CHF 29,700. More information at parmigiani.com.

21.6k VPH and less than 50hrs PR is poor full stop. For 30k? Absolutely insulting.
They have potential and are NOT currently unlocking it.
