The Complete List Of Unique Watches For Only Watch 2023 Charity Auction
There are some interesting takeaways from the 62 watches created by 73 watchmakers/brands.
Only Watch, the biennial fundraiser for research on muscular dystrophy, has just released the list of the 72 watchmakers/brands and 62 lots that will be part of its 2023 auction. Over the years, Only Watch has become one of the most anticipated and significant auctions in the watch calendar, if only for the quality of the watches offered. Some CHF 30 million was raised for the 2021 edition. Beauty, originality, savoir-faire and creativity are united again for an exceptional 2023 millésime. And as is often the case, many brands use Only Watch as a platform to introduce new models, so it is really worth a closer look… And even though we expect to go into more detail regarding some of the watches in separate stories, here’s an initial rundown of everything and some first takeaways.
Let’s start with the news that everybody is expecting. However, the wait is not over, as the Patek Philippe unique piece for Only Watch 2023 has not been revealed yet. What we do know is that Patek will introduce a watch “as a tribute to Philippe Stern in November, on the occasion of his 85th birthday. Thierry Stern, President of the Geneva manufacture, has chosen to pay tribute to his father by creating an exclusive limited-edition wristwatch with his favourite grand complication, which will feature an entirely new movement. The first timepiece of this 30-piece limited edition, produced in a unique Only Watch design version”.
Taking a look at the brands/watchmakers that have achieved the most impressive results from the previous auctions, F.P. Journe presents the Chronomètre Furtif Bleu, a tantalum watch fitted with the new 1522 calibre in rose gold and an enamel dial that reveals its numeral only on the reflection of light. Audemars Piguet unveils a white ceramic Royal Oak with a self-winding openworked tourbillon and Richard Mille a pendant watch.
With the Prince Chronograph One, Tudor releases a classic 1970s-inspired yellow gold chronograph, celebrating the return of the Big Block Chronograph… but this comes with another important news: the watch is powered by an automatic column-wheel chronograph developed and produced by Tudor! A calibre that should be at the heart of many more Tudor watches soon!
COLLABS
As for previous editions, Only Watch has been the opportunity for some interesting, sometimes unexpected, collaborations or cooperations… MB&F and H. Moser are back together, but we have also creations by Jacob&Co x Concepto, Ludovic Ballouard x Brittany Nicole Cox, Angelus and Château Angelus, Frederique Constant and Christiaan Van Der Klaauw, Reservoir x Telos, Singer Reimagined x Genus, Petermann Bedat x Auffret or a new Czapek model powered by a Lederer movement with twin balance wheels!
Created in 2005, the event is organized under the patronage of HSH Albert II de Monaco. The watches of the 10th edition will be auctioned by Christie’s on Saturday, 5th of November 2023, in Geneva at Palexpo. All proceeds will benefit the Only Foundation (previously named Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies) working on accelerating research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and genetic diseases. In the weeks preceding the auction, the watches will be presented to the public, media, and horological enthusiasts during a promotional tour that will start on September 6th, 2023, in Los Angeles and will end on November 5th, 2023, in Geneva.

That LF Sport Auto in grey and the Moritz Grossmann in grey are stellar! I hope LF offers a grey option without the additional color decoration of this model in the future.
Sounds like a very monochrome look!
Seeing Baltic and Furlan Marri in this list, warms my heart.
