The 2020 Baume & Mercier Baumatic Collection with New Displays
New complications for the Baumatic collection and its 5-day power reserve movement.
Unveiled at the 2018 edition of the SIHH, the Baumatic was a welcome surprise from Baume & Mercier. This no-nonsense all-rounder watch, with an elegant design, was powered by the brand’s first manufacture movement with a 5-day power reserve, chronometer precision and superior magnetic protection – all for an affordable price. Following the introduction of a perpetual calendar in 2019, the collection now expands with new models for 2020. These include new small complications, a Day-Date & Moon Phase and Moon Phase & Date, with movements still based on the Baumatic manufacture calibre.
Both new models come in 42mm cases. The Baumatic Day-Date & Moon Phase is available in steel or in gold with gradient grey dials. The day of the week is indicated at 12 o’clock while the date indication frames the moon phase at 6 o’clock. The original aperture to reveal the waxing and waning of the moon is in smoked sapphire. The more traditional Baumatic Moon Phase & Date is fitted with a porcelain-white dial. It is available in steel on a leather strap or on a bracelet. Both watches are equipped with the 5-day power reserve movement, without COSC certification.

Wish they’d take “BAUMATIC” off the dial and just say “AUTOMATIC”.
It is an easy movement. By it’s long power reserve i have no worries when my Baumatic need a swing.
By this i chose almost every time to wear my Baume & Mercier Clifton. I’ve got the moon phase, so this complication give my watch some extra touch.
Good news, Baume & Mercier put the superb movement also in some Riviera variants.
