TAOS Unveils “Génèse” and “Odonata”
Two Métiers d’art Unique pieces inspired by Nature
Launched in 2024 in Geneva, TAOS is born out of a renowned Geneva-based atelier led by Olivier Vaucher. Bringing together some 40 highly skilled artisans, this Atelier, which works behind the scenes for some of the most prestigious names in fine watchmaking, can pride itself on an exceptional artistic heritage. On the eve of the major watchmaking gatherings surrounding Watches and Wonders, TAOS introduces two new Métier d’Art unique pieces: Génèse and Odonata. Both creations explore nature as a field of artistic expression, each through a distinct creative approach.
Génèse: A Mineral Expression of Nature
Génèse draws its inspiration from the mineral world. Its dial is crafted using an intricate combination of engraving beneath enamel, grand feu enamel work paired with stone marquetry composition combining black jade and blue agate, creating a richly textured and visually striking surface. At its heart beats a movement developed for TAOS by Telos, the high-grade, niche movement designer and producer. Telos was founded by Frank Orny and Johnny Girardin in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Thanks to its peripheral rotor, the movement is also used as a canvas for artistic expression. Its hand-decoration echoes the aesthetic language of the dial, ensuring a seamless visual continuity. Just like for the unique pieces presented to launch the brand in 2024, the watch is housed in a 38 mm white gold case, reinforcing its understated yet sophisticated presence.
Odonata: A Dreamlike Fusion of Techniques and Forms
With Odonata (taking its name from the dragonfly family), TAOS ventures into a more dreamlike territory, where nature becomes fluid—blurring the boundaries between animal and vegetal forms. This unique piece stands among the most complex ever created by the atelier Vaucher. The dial is a multi-level creation integrating high-relief technical engraving, paillonné enamel, diamond setting, mother-of-pearl marquetry, and plique-à-jour, creating plays of transparency and depths and giving the dial a vibrant, almost ethereal presence.
Like Genesis, Odinata is presented in a 38 mm white gold case, here with diamond-set lugs and bezel. It is powered by the same Telos movement whose decoration once again reflects the dial’s artistic theme. Price is set at CHF 150,000 for Génèse and CHF 200,000 for Odonata.

Pretty pedestrian looking movement for a 6 figure watch…
Hilarious. I’d rather buy a high end car.
For the money, I would rather buy a nice car.
