Sylvester Stallone, an American actor, director and producer, needs no introduction anymore. He is best known to people worldwide for creating and playing the character Rocky Balboa, the underdog boxer in the Rocky film series and portraying the fictional special forces solider, John Rambo. This year will see the release of the final film in the Rambo franchise.
Stallone has been a watch guy for long time and regularly wears his own timepieces in films. If you watch the Expendables series of films, you will see Stallone wearing a different Panerai timepiece in each film.
In recent times he has added numerous Patek Philippe, Rolex, Carl F. Bucherer (he’s “friend of the brand”) and Richard Mille timepieces to his collection and rotates his watches on a frequent basis.
Stallone posted a photo on Instagram recently, celebrating the 21st birthday of his daughter Sistine. He was sporting a Patek Philippe reference 5270 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in platinum with salmon dial and Arabic numerals, which was released at Baselworld 2018. Another timepiece from the Geneva maison that he regularly wears is the Nautilus reference 5980 Chronograph in rose gold, which he wore to the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. The iconic case was designed by Gerald Genta and unveiled in 1973. This version of the Nautilus features a 60-minute chronograph with in-house self-winding movement.
Just before Cannes, Stallone was seen out and about in Los Angeles with a new addition to his Patek collection, this time wearing an Aquanaut. The Aquanaut is a sports watch like its bigger brother, the Nautilus and has a similar silhouette in its case design. Adorning Stallone’s wrist was the reference 5167 in rose gold on brown rubber strap.
And of course, there are some Carl F. Bucherer watches, which are often worn by Sly on red carpets or at the city. He’s named by the brand as a “friend”, and is regularily spotted wearing a Patravi TravelTec or a Patravi ScubaTec, two of the boldest and sportiest watches made by the brand.
