The Raymond Weil Millesime Chronograph Limited Edition Largo Winch

Largo Winch’s most recent mission? Geneva.

| By Xavier Markl | 2 min read |

Pop culture icons are increasingly in vogue and luxury watch brands have been surfing the wave of comic or cartoon-themed timepieces. Raymond Weil is the latest brand to join this trend with a limited edition inspired by Largo Winch, the gentleman-adventurer created by Belgian cartoonist Philippe Francq. Yet instead of featuring the iconic character on a dial of one of its watches – as is often the case with such collabs – the brand has opted for a different approach, personalising its stylish Millésime Chronograph with Dollar green hues and a custom illustration on the case back.

This Raymond Weil Largo Winch Limited Edition is a variation of the Millésime Automatic Chronograph. Like the other models in this collection, it offers an elegant, understated and retro-inspired design – perfectly capturing the lifestyle and allure of the playboy-businessman-gentleman-adventurer, Largo Winch. Rather than leaning on bold branding/collab elements, Raymond Weil has opted for a refined approach, keeping the chronograph’s sober yet stylish design.

What sets this edition apart is the use of the dollar-green counters, contrasting with the silver-toned sector dial and giving the watch a subtle but distinctive character. The tachymeter scale and the tip of the chronograph seconds hand are rendered in light green, The connection to Largo Winch is showcased on the case back, with a colourful illustration of the character in Geneva, on the iconic Montblanc bridge, specially created by Philippe Francq for this collaboration.

As mentioned above, the Raymond Weil Millesime Automatic Chronograph Largo Winch retains the elegant style and features of the Millésime chronograph we have presented here. As such, it comes in a classic retro-style 39.5mm case with a sapphire glassbox and pump-style pushers. Inside is the automatic calibre RW5030 based on the tried-and-tested Sellita SW500. Derived from the Valjoux 7750 architecture, this cam-and-lever integrated chronograph runs at 4Hz and its power reserve is 62 hours.

The Raymond Weil Millesime Automatic Chronograph Largo Winch is worn on a grey calfskin strap discreetly embossed with a W Winch on the lining. It is fitted with a steel buckle. The price of this 300-piece limited edition is set at CHF 3,595 or EUR 3,895.
