Few racing circuits are as well-known outside the car fan community and command the respect and mythology of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. For almost a century, it has served as the proving ground for racing drivers, manufacturers and performance cars, and few brands are more closely associated with it than Porsche. Beyond countless motorsport victories, every modern Porsche goes through extensive testing on the Nordschleife. To celebrate the Nürburgring’s 100th anniversary in 2027, Porsche has created the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring, accompanied by an exclusive Porsche Design Chronograph 1 edition, reserved exclusively for buyers of the anniversary GT3.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring continues the legacy of the iconic Chronograph 1, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972. Its 40.8mm titanium case, 14.15mm thick, receives a black titanium carbide coating, giving the watch an instrument-like appearance. Water-resistant to 100m, it is topped by a sapphire crystal with a seven-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides. The screw-down crown and the screwed sapphire caseback engraved with the individual limitation number complete the construction.

Inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911, the black dial features crisp white numerals, indices and hands, with a tachymeter scale on the wide flange. The chronograph 30-minute counter is at 12 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 6, the bilingual German-English day-and-date display at 3 o’clock, and the running seconds display at 9 o’clock features a green Aero Disc graphic inside, referencing the Nordschleife’s forest surroundings. A Nürburgring logo on the dial is another detail. Super-LumiNova on hands and indices ensures readability in low-light conditions.

The Chronograph 1 – 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring is powered by the Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.140, a Sellita-based COSC-certified automatic chronograph that operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a 48-hour power reserve. The rotor, visible through the caseback, reproduces the wheel of the anniversary GT3, with its California Gold finish and black centre-lock hub bearing GT3 lettering. The watch is worn on a strap made from genuine black Porsche interior leather with perforations, green textile backing and GT Silver contrast stitching, matching the interior of the car. A green textile hook-and-loop strap is also included, and both can be swapped in seconds thanks to Porsche Design’s quick-change system.

Made to order at Porsche Design’s manufacture in Grenchen, Switzerland, the Chronograph 1 – 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring will be available from September 2026 exclusively to customers purchasing the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring. Limited to 100 pieces, the watch is priced at EUR 9,950. For more information, please visit Porsche-Design.com.
