The Return of the Oris Aquis Date Relief, with Textured Bezel
A relaunch with new colours and a steel diving bezel with 3D effect.

The latest Oris Aquis Date Relief is a reintroduction of the model with new dial and strap colours and the always cool steel bezel in relief. The Aquis Date Cherry (and others) in 43.5mm from a few years ago is very similar, but this follows the recent Aquis redesign and brings a new strap and dial elements. It has a bold presence at 43.5mm (from 41.5mm models) and a toned-down aesthetic that can be muted or a bit flashy depending on the configuration.
The stainless steel case is again 43.5mm in diameter and 13.1mm in height (lug-to-lug 51mm), so it’s large but certainly wearable day-to-day and has serious diving chops with a 300-metre water-resistance rating. A double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coatings protects the dial, and there’s a mineral glass exhibition caseback. The screw-down crown is protected by the recently (subtly) redesigned guards, but the highlight is the steel unidirectional rotating bezel that has a detailed 15-minute scale and Arabic numerals/markers in relief for a three-dimensional effect (visually and tactilely). The case comes fitted with a three-link steel bracelet or a bright red rubber strap, both of which feature a folding clasp with an extension.
The dial comes in sunray grey with applied indices with Super-LumiNova, and the hour/minute hands have matching lume inserts. The lollipop seconds hand is red to complement the red rubber strap option, so the muted vibe can be a bit louder for those summer beach days. The date window at 6 o’clock matches the dial colour (another detail from the Aquis redesign), so it’s both useful and discreet.
Powering the new Aquis Date Relief is the Oris 733 calibre, based on the Sellita SW200-1 automatic (alternative to the ETA 2824). It has 26 jewels, beats at 28,800vph (4Hz), and comes with a 41-hour power reserve. Functions include central hours, minutes, hacking seconds and date. Seen from the exhibition caseback, it has the signature Oris red rotor.
The Oris Aquis Date Relief retails for CHF 2,100 with a red rubber strap and CHF 2,300 with a steel bracelet. For more information, please visit the Oris website.
