Norqain has never been afraid to inject colour and fun into its robust sports watches. The new Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” is one of the brand’s most playful creations. Based on the Freedom GMT and its true GMT movement made by Kenissi, this new 500-piece edition is a colourful celebration of holidays, adventures, and well-planned coffee time.

The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter, 14.5mm thick and 49.3mm lug-to-lug. Its familiar Freedom construction includes a screw-down crown, the customisable Norqain plate on the left case flank and a box-shaped sapphire crystal. Water resistance is 100m, good for the sort of summer adventures suggested by its dial.

And the dial is where a lot of things happen. Its matte white surface is decorated with a colourful world map populated by small holiday-inspired icons, as if suggesting reasons for the next trip, such as meeting a kangaroo in Australia, riding a tuk-tuk in Thailand, or visiting a Hollywood studio. There are also thoughtful warnings; notice the shark’s fin above the 5 o’clock mark. On the dial’s periphery, there’s a multi-coloured gradient 24-hour GMT ring with lifestyle references for Happy Hour, sleep, and coffee time, along with a set of corresponding icons. The turquoise-tipped GMT hand indicates the second time zone, the rhodium-plated applied markers and faceted hands are treated with white Super-LumiNova.

Oh, another fun detail is at 6 o’clock. The date display features a holiday icon every 7 days to remind you that the watch is less about business travel and more about enjoying holiday journeys.

Underneath the colourful dial is the Norqain Manufacture Calibre NN20/2, produced by Kenissi. This COSC-certified automatic movement is a true GMT with a jumping hour feature. The local hour hand can be adjusted independently in one-hour increments when changing time zones, and the date moves forward and backwards together with the local time, while the movement continues running. Operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour, the NN20/2 delivers a 70-hour power reserve. The bridge bears “Adventure, Freedom, Independence”, and the oscillating weight is branded. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, though the view is a bit obscured by the “Enjoy Life” logo and “ONE of 500” inscription.

The Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” is available on either a stainless steel bracelet or a white rubber strap. And hidden among the 500 pieces is one special watch containing a Golden Ticket. Its owner will get a holiday for two at the Ayada Maldives resort. A fun extra, certainly, but very much appealing and in line with the Enjoy Life spirit.

The watch is priced at EUR 5,350 on the steel bracelet or EUR 5,210 on the white rubber strap. More information and orders at www.norqain.com.
