Fresh Dial Colours and Textures for the Delma 1924 Tourbillon

Textured blue and salmon dials expand Delma’s sporty tourbillon family.

Delma, founded in 1924, is a family-owned brand based in Lengnau, Switzerland, with a solid track record of rugged, high-performance sports watches adapted to racing, airborne and diving pursuits. Last year, Delma surprised its fan base with the release of a tourbillon to celebrate its 100th anniversary powered by the brand’s first proprietary movement. Following in the anniversary edition’s footsteps, Delma releases two new tourbillon models with blue and salmon dials.

The inaugural Delma 1924 Tourbillon came in a new case design that echoes the brand’s sporty action-ready watches. The 41mm tonneau-shaped stainless steel case has a thickness of 14mm (including the domed sapphire crystal). It is predominantly decorated with brushed finishes, save for the wide polished bevel running the length of the case, emphasising the attractive tapering curves of the case’s silhouette. A large screw-down crown with a prominent tread is nestled between curved crown guards. Despite the presence of a tourbillon regulator, the case retains a robust 200m depth rating.

In a departure from the grained finish of the first Delma 1924 Tourbillon, the new blue and salmon-coloured dials have a beads-of-rice guilloché-style pattern, adding a touch of old-school charm to match the traditional complication. The applied rounded baton-shaped indices, with a double marker at noon, are filled with white Super-LumiNova matching the central hour and minute hands.

Occupying a large aperture on the dial at 6 o’clock, the one-minute tourbillon is secured by a V-shaped upper bridge with two heat-blued screws. A circular track on the periphery of the aperture displays the seconds indicated by the blued hand on top of the tourbillon cage.

Delma collaborated with the renowned watchmaker Olivier Mory from La Chaux-de-Fonds to create the manual-winding calibre DT100.01 – the same base is also used by Yema, Patria, Louis Erard and CODE41. This movement boasts a prodigious 105-hour power reserve and features an index-regulated, variable-inertia balance with a Glucydur balance wheel. The baseplate is decorated with perlage, and the dark grey ruthenium-treated bridges have Côtes de Genève and golden inscriptions.

Fitted with a stainless steel bracelet with a deployant clasp, the Tourbillon 2.0 comes with a complimentary handmade Italian leather strap with a folding clasp. Quick-release spring bars let you switch from one to another without tools.

Each dial colour is a limited edition of 25 pieces. The new Delma 1924 Tourbillon models can be pre-ordered at a discount from 18-31 March 2025 for an exclusive price of CHF 9,250 or USD 10,500, with deliveries in May 2025. Select Delma retailers will stock the watch from May 2025 with a retail price of CHF 12,900 or USD 14,500, which remains excellent value for a tourbillon watch. More information at delmawatches.com.
