Founded in 2004, Hautlence became part of the MELB Holding Group in 2012 and relocated to Shaffhausen to share premises with sister company H. Moser & Cie. Renowned for its unusual and creative displays of time, often showcased in large rectangular retro TV-shaped cases, Hautlence’s first Vagabonde model with wandering digital hours appeared in 2018 with a black and white screen. In time for Geneva Watch Days 2025, Hautlence presents the Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 4 & 5 animated by wandering hours and a flying tourbillon and eye-catching blue dials decorated with 3D-printed patterns.

Last year, Hautlence upgraded the mechanical complexity and complexity of its Vagabonde wandering hours with a flying tourbillon. While wandering hours have been kicking around since the 17th century, Hautlence envisions them in a contemporary and dynamic context.

The two new Vagabonde Tourbillons rely on Hautlence’s kinetic display housed in a signature rectangular steel case with a midnight-blue PVD coating. Following the 2022 makeover, the signature TV-shaped case features an integrated white rubber strap, creating a more streamlined look and providing a more comfortable fit. True to its heritage, it maintains a commanding presence with its 50.8mm diameter, 43mm length and 12.1mm height (10.9mm without the bevelled sapphire crystal). Thanks to the crown guards protecting the large white rubber-clad crown, the case can withstand depths of 100 metres and is visually balanced with the bumper on the left flank.

Framed by an octagonal bezel, Hautlence’s signature wandering hours complication relies on three blue rotating satellites that glide beneath the sapphire minutes ring. The current hour appears in the aperture above the central axis, and its pointed tip indicates the minutes on the suspended sapphire crystal disc. To enhance legibility, the rings and the applied numerals on the rotating minutes disc are crafted from Globolight, a ceramic compound loaded with Super-LumiNova. Further animating the dial is the 60-second flying tourbillon with an open bar-shaped carriage at 6 o’clock.

The Series 4 Edition is decorated with a 3D-printed mosaic composed of blue cubes. The more organic pattern on the dial of the Series 5 Edition is also achieved through 3D printing and features a blue PVD-coated web-like structure set against a white background treated with Super-LumiNova.

A circular sapphire crystal reveals the automatic calibre D30. Equipped with an efficient bidirectional pawl winding system for a 72-hour power reserve, the flying tourbillon has a double hairspring, produced in-house by sister company, Precision Engineering AG.

Both references are limited editions of 28 pieces and retail for CHF 59,000. More information at hautlence.com.
