Mido’s Multifort 8 Two Crowns in Rose Gold PVD and Black
A warm, graphic twist on the brand's cool take on the integrated sports watch.
When Mido introduced the Multifort 8 Two Crowns earlier this year, it was clear the brand had found a confident voice within the competitive world of integrated sports watches. Compact, slim, and thoughtfully detailed, it proved that good design, reliable movement and fair price still matter. Now, Mido expands the series with the Multifort 8 Two Crowns Rose Gold PVD, a nice combination of black and warm metallic tones that highlights the model’s geometry.
The Multifort collection has deep roots in Mido’s history, dating back to 1934, when the brand combined automatic winding with water resistance and anti-magnetism. The modern Multifort 8 brings that same nature of technical utility into a contemporary shape. With its 100m water-resistant, the 40mm stainless-steel case, treated entirely in rose gold PVD, boasts brushed and polished surfaces, and the octagonal bezel lends a distinctive edge. Despite its seemingly significant presence, the case remains wearable, 9.5mm thick and under 45mm lug-to-lug.
The matte black dial carries the series’ signature horizontal grooves and features recessed indexes (round and trapezoidal for the quarter-hours) and faceted rose gold-toned hands coated with white Super-LumiNova. A framed date window at 3 o’clock and a rotating inner bezel, operated via the crown at two o’clock, add practical functionality.
Powering the watch is Mido’s Calibre 72, an automatic movement derived from the ETA A31.111, itself an evolution of the ETA 2892. Slim and reliable, it operates at 25,200 vibrations/hour and offers 72 hours of power reserve, with a Nivachron balance spring for resistance to shocks, temperature shifts, and magnetism. The movement can be seen through the sapphire caseback.
The watch is worn on a black rubber strap, embossed to echo the dial’s linear pattern. It secures with a rose gold PVD pin buckle and features quick-release bars for easy changes. The new Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns Rose Gold PVD is already available to buy, the price is CHF 1,150 or EUR 1,220.

Their Aquanaut homage is commercially successful… why not a Royal Oak homage…
