Meistersinger Urban Day Date (live pics and pricing)
A younger, even more accessible take on the single-hand watch.
Meistersinger made a name for itself by offering products with a distinctive feature: single-hand watches. With its simply designed, frill-free watches the German manufacturer provides its own cool, offbeat, take on watchmaking. The brand was founded in 2001 by Manfred Brassler around the idea of ‘creating an alternative to wristwatches that show time as something constantly racing along’, crafting distinctive timepieces for those who want to keep track of time but are not obsessed by seconds.
Presented in 2018, the Meistersinger Urban remains true to this concept with a clean, simple design but in a variation that makes it stand out among the other models from the brand. Designed for young urbanites, it is the only Meistersinger to display double hour digits, and the only Meistersinger (sub)collection to be powered by a self-winding Japanese Miyota movement. Both factors are meant to appeal to a younger clientele.
As its name suggests, the Urban Day Date shows the day of the week and the date. These practical and easy-to-read indications are displayed respectively at 12 o’clock, in a large opening, and at 6 o’clock, in a round window. This creates a pleasant and balanced layout. As a consequence, the ‘Urban’ signature double-hour digits are printed at 02, 04, 08 and 10 giving the watch a more dynamic look. The final touch is brought by contrasting colours for enhanced legibility.
The model comes in a neatly polished steel case with clean, simple lines. It features dynamic lugs and a round, softly curved bezel. At 40mm in diameter, the watch will fit most wrists perfectly. Water-resistance is of 50m.
The Urban Day Date is powered by the automatic Miyota 8285 movement. Running at 3Hz, it comes with a 42-hour power reserve. The time-setting and the day/date adjustment are made via the large fluted crown. So, if you take out your watch for a couple of days, it can be adjusted simply and quickly. The movement is visible via the exhibition caseback secured by 6 screws, its decoration is simple and personalized with the Meistersinger name in golden letters on the rotor.
The Meistersinger Urban Day Date is presented on a calfskin leather strap and a complimentary textile strap. It is available in four different colour variations: opaline silver, blue, black and sand grey. Price is set at EUR 995. For more information, please visit www.meistersinger.com

Este reloj con Eta 2834 o sw 240 , seria fantástico y el precio seria de poca diferencia con la
precision de los miyota. es mi opinión.
995 euros and Miyota? Seriously?
Not bad for under 1000 euro
