The New MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner Hour-Strike

MeisterSinger joins the classical music society celebrating the life and work of an Austrian organist and symphonist, with a chiming watch.

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of renowned composer and musician Anton Bruckner, MeisterSinger has aptly chosen its hour-strike “au passage” Bell Hora chiming watch for a special release. The MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner honours the composer while preserving the signature features that define the brand’s creations, including the classic single-hand display combined to the chiming complication. This classic timepiece is a fitting tribute for fans of Bruckner’s talent, embodying the elegance and sophistication worthy of his legacy.

The MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner features a fully polished, 43mm diameter stainless steel case with a water resistance of 50 meters. The case is designed with curved lugs and a rounded bezel, giving it a refined appearance. At 3 o’clock, a sizable fluted crown is positioned for easy time-setting, while a stylish pusher at 10 o’clock allows the wearer to activate or deactivate the chiming function. The pusher is marked to indicate whether the hour-strike feature is on or off. Unlike other Bell Hora models, the caseback of this limited edition is not a display type but rather solid steel. It is secured by four screws and engraved with a silhouette of Bruckner and additional inscriptions, including the limited edition number.

The dial of the MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner mirrors the layout of the standard Bell Hora models. At its centre is a single heat-blued hand, familiar from previous editions, featuring a long, slender design with a sharp arrowhead tip and two roundels. Around the dial’s periphery, alternating black and blue markers of varying lengths aid in reading the time, with a red “30” marking the half-hour. The hour indices are arranged in two concentric circles: 1 to 12 on the outer circle and 13 to 24 closer to the centre. Notably, numbers 13 to 21 are replaced with the keys of Bruckner’s nine symphonies. The MeisterSinger logo, adorned with a musical symbol that ties into the theme, sits above the centre. At the same time, Bell Hora’s ringing bell image and Anton Bruckner’s signature are positioned just above the 6 o’clock mark, providing a harmonious balance to the design.

For the chimes at every passing hour and the single-hand time indication, the MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner relies upon the MS Bell automatic movement, a Sellita SW200 base with a specially developed module, first introduced in 2021. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and provides 38 hours of power reserve – more details can be discovered in this review.

The watch has an ocean blue cowhide embossed strap and comes in special packaging. MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner is limited to 50, and the price is EUR 4,890. For more details, please visit meistersinger.com.
