Lorige BL-Evolution “Competition”, Built from Le Mans Victory
The latest BL-Evolution marks Lorige’s partnership with Inter Europol Competition, using reprocessed brake material from the team’s victorious 2026 Le Mans LMP2 cars.
There is a particular appeal in owning a physical fragment of something meaningful, be it from popular culture, a piece of the Jacaranda stage where The Beatles first performed, or, in Lorige’s case, motorsport: the brake material used by a winning endurance-racing car, which was later turned into material for its BL-Endurance collection. Following the recent BL-Endurance Evolution Bleu Asphalte Gold Edition, the new BL-Evolution “Competition” celebrates the brand’s partnership with Inter Europol Competition and its appointment as official timekeeper for the team’s IMSA season, using carbon/carbon reprocessed from the No.43 and No.343 LMP2 cars that finished first and second in class at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The tonneau-shaped BL-Evolution case measures 50mm by 42mm and remains 10.3mm thick. The case is constructed entirely from recycled carbon/carbon composite, while the bezel and caseback are made from satin-finished and polished Grade 5 titanium. The material comes from reprocessed LMP2 brake pads, so the watch is quite literally connected to the race cars that inspired it, unlike many splinters that supposedly had John and Paul stomping them. A titanium dynamometric crown sits at 3 o’clock, with Cool Grey Néoralithe inserts adding a dose of contrast. Sapphire crystals front and back leave the mechanical construction visible. Water resistance is 50m.
The new gradient sapphire dial is one of the main differences from the previous BL-Evolution. The transparent surface allows the sunray finishing of the mainplate to radiate through the dial, with the pattern extending from the centre of the seconds display. Redesigned rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and hands use Cool Grey Super-LumiNova, accompanied by white luminous indices.
The seconds display has also been reworked as a two-part, double-coloured disc using Inter Europol Competition’s yellow and green colours. At 12 o’clock, the power-reserve indication features a DLC and rhodium-plated titanium upper bridge, a satin-finished day counter, and a micro-blasted DLC disc carrying Cool Grey engravings.
The watch is powered by the new manually wound LOR-DB03 (produced by Chronode) with twin barrels and an impressive seven-day, or 168-hour, power reserve. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour and comprises 175 components. Lorige applies its Duo-Tone finishing to the mainplate and bridges, combining microblasting with rhodium-plated sunray brushing and chamfering by hand.
The watch is worn on Lorige’s new two-part Tech Hybrid strap, combining rubber and fabric and fitted with the brand’s Quick&Release system. A fold-over deployment clasp uses two stainless-steel sliding buckles and offers 6mm of fine adjustment. The clasp is hand-polished and satin-finished, with a Cool Grey lacquered Lorige logo. Limited to 50 pieces, the Lorige BL-Evolution “Competition” is available with pricing upon request. For more information, please visit lorige.com.
