The New Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Limited Edition
Timing skiing competitions since 1924, Longines upholds its legacy as a true supporter of sports year after year.
Longines is renowned for its dedication to sports, so it’s no surprise that as the leading partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and Official Timekeeper for both the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS World Championships, the brand chose to celebrate the upcoming 48th FIS Alpine Ski World Championship in Saalbach, Austria, by launching a special Ski Edition of the Longines Conquest Chronograph. While, in essence, it is the same Conquest Chronograph model that emerged in 2023 as a result of a long-awaited and welcomed update to the collection, this edition features subtle decorative enhancements that appeal to enthusiasts drawn to its sporty look. Plus, it’s the same watch Marco Odermatt sports this season, so it comes with a story to tell.
The new Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Edition features a robust 42mm stainless steel case with 100m water resistance, complemented by a black ceramic insert on the tachymeter bezel and a sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The fluted screw-down crown, positioned at 3 o’clock, is shielded by a raised guard, with pump-style pushers located at the standard 2 and 4 o’clock positions. Setting this special edition apart from the standard model is its solid screw-down caseback, which showcases an engraved alpine skier at its centre. Surrounding this image are engravings that read “Saalbach 2025 – FIS Alpine World Ski Championships” and “Limited Edition – One of 2025,” along with the watch’s water and magnetic resistance mentions.
The anthracite dial of the new Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Edition features a vertical satin finish, and while retaining a familiar layout, it introduces details that distinguish its design. The dial’s sub-dials—small seconds at 3 o’clock, 12-hour chronograph counter at 6, and 30-minute chrono counter at 9—are recessed and finished in black with a snailed texture on the surrounding rings. A similar recessed, snailed black ring sits between the dial plate and the outer minutes/seconds track, adding depth to the design.
Applied, faceted indices with Super-LumiNova at cardinal points enhance visibility, while small, outlined in red Super-LumiNova squares accent the remaining indices. The polished, silvered hour and minute hands feature luminous stripes, while the central chronograph hand has a red tip. Completing the look, the chronograph sub-dial hands are fully red, providing a vibrant contrast.
Like the rest of the series, the Conquest Chrono Ski Edition is powered by the Longines L898.5 automatic calibre, an evolution of the ETA 2892 modular chronograph with a silicon balance spring and magnetic-resistant components. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour and has up to 59 hours of power reserve.
The watch is offered on a stainless steel bracelet with a pusher-operated triple-security folding clasp and on a black rubber strap with a double-security folding clasp and micro-adjustment – both included in the presentation box. The Longines Conquest Chrono Ski Edition is limited to 2,025 pieces, and the price is EUR 4,500. For more, visit longines.com.
