Kollokium is a project-based watchmaking platform founded in 2020 by Manuel Emch, Barth Nussbaumer and Amr Sindis. Created as an alternative to conventional brand-led horology, Kollokium does not want to be labelled as a “brand” and embraces freedom to build timepieces with “no defined artistic direction, no rehashed history, no constraints”. The third evolution of Kollokium’s topographical Projekt 02 dials is this Cooler Waters with alluring blue waves, just in time for the summer heat.

Moving on from the pixellated pin dials of the inaugural Projekt 01 models, Kollokium recreated the look and feel of 3D hypsometric maps with its Projekt 02 collection, already released in Variants A and B. Like the former editions, the dial of Cooler Waters is built from 67 individually hand-painted plates stacked to create nine distinct layers. What’s new here is the vivid turquoise gradient washing over the troughs and crests of the dial. A bird’s view of the sea with white crested waves, this dial stands out a mile in daylight and in the dark.

Like the colour gradient used on hypsometric maps to indicate variations in height and depth, the highest peaks representing the indices are hand-painted in a cool white tone, as each successive layer gradually gets darker to culminate in an inviting turquoise. The lacquer is infused with blue-emission Super-LumiNova, forming nine separate gradients that transition from lighter blue tones on the peaks to darker ones in the lower wells.

For extra drama, the metal contours of each ridge are outlined in black. Matching the dial, the white hour and minute hands are also filled with blue SLN. Protected by a tall, panoramic box-shaped sapphire crystal, the dial can be admired from the top and sides.

Kollokium uses die-cast steel to create the ultra-resilient monobloc case with integrated lugs and bezel, offset by a valve-shaped crown. With a compact 39mm diameter and a surprisingly slim height of 5.9mm (not including the crystal), the case is water-resistant to 50 metres. The only sign of its provenance is the K,P-nº2 relief on the left case flank.

The watch is fitted with the tried-and-tested La Joux-Perret G101, an automatic movement with a solid 68-hour power reserve. Matching the inviting blue tones of the dial, the single-piece elastic textile strap has a hook buckle in die-cast steel.

The watch is a limited edition of 299 pieces and retails for CHF 3,666.66 (excl. VAT). It will be available to subscribers on Monday, 1 June 2026, on kollokium.com, then to the public on Tuesday, 2 June at 14:00 CET – deliveries between June 3 and June 15.
