The “Baby Reef” series of Formex 39.5mm dive watches, comprised of four watches distinguished by dial colour, was presented at the end of 2023. Now, in time for summer, it gets a new and very fresh-looking reference. It’s everything the brand enthusiasts appreciate about the collection, only brighter. Here’s the Reef 39.5mm Bahama Blue 300m chronometer dive watch.

The new Formex Reef 39.5mm “Bahama Blue” stands out from its predecessors, boasting a fresh dial design that will catch the eye. It retains the familiar case specifications: a 39.5mm diameter, 11mm height, 22mm lug width, and 45.5mm lug-to-lug distance – in a nutshell, a compact yet competent dive watch. The robust stainless steel case, water-resistant up to 300 meters, features distinctive crown protectors mirrored by a shaped bulging element on the left side, adding a special touch.

This model has a polished, 120-click unidirectional bezel with a striking light blue ceramic insert. The numerals and markers are hand-filled with black resin to ensure optimal legibility. The bezel is designed to be easily removable, offering the flexibility to personalize the watch’s appearance with alternative bezel options from the Reef 39.5mm collection, such as black, green, dark blue ceramic, or silvery stainless steel – a classic and enjoyable Formex feature.

The vibrant “Bahama Blue” dial is crafted by applying coloured lacquer onto a mirror-polished surface, followed by several layers of transparent lacquer for a polished finish. The minutes and seconds track is printed in black, segmented by applied, shaped, and faceted indices vertically brushed with mirror-polished angles. The central hour, minute hands, and indices are filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent visibility in low light. Even the running lollipop-style seconds hand features a touch of lume. At 6 o’clock, an angled date window colour-matched to the dial seamlessly integrates into the design.

Universal to the series, including the larger 42mm edition of this dive watch, the new Bahama Blue Formex Reef 39.5mm is driven by the COSC-certified Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement. This movement features a custom-made skeletonized rotor and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, providing a robust 56-hour power reserve.

When it comes to personalization, the options for the Formex Reef 39.5mm Bahama Blue are extensive and exciting. You can explore these options on a dedicated page, where you’ll find a variety of bracelet and strap variations, along with the convenience of an interchangeable bezel system.

Formex’s gradual fine-adjustment system is integrated into all straps, giving you the power to make this watch genuinely comfortable. The rubber and leather straps, equipped with a carbon fibre deployant buckle, offer a 7mm adjustment. The stainless steel bracelet with a compact folding clasp allows for a 10mm adjustment. Note that the NATO strap uses a pin buckle and offers no adjustment.) Pricing starts at EUR 1,790, with additional bezels available for EUR 169 each. For more details, visit formexwatch.com.
