March LA.B Introduces Three New Versions of its Flagship AM2
Hip to be square… in black or green!
Launched in 2011, the AM2 is March LA.B’s flagship collection. This angular watch was named upon the initials of one of the three founders of the brand, Alain Marhic. With strong retro-futuristic vibes, its 8-sided case stands out with its sloping facets. Following the introduction of the titanium Millésime March 2024 edition in March and the GMT Grall Edition in October of this year, the brand now unveils three new models standing out with rather bold surface treatments.
The stealth effect – AM2 Automatic Ultimate & AM2 Slim Automatic Ultimate
Given the popularity of blacked-out watches today, it is not a surprise to see March LA.B present two black-DLC steel versions of their flagship AM2. Yet, the black theme changes its look quite drastically. These are available for the two sizes of the model. The larger 39mm model showcases a stealth monochrome black look – as always, with an exception, on the 3rd of each month as the date appears in vivid green. The smaller 36mm size wears a dark green shade and gold-colour details on its striped dial that is framed by a black chapter ring with the brand’s signature hour markers. As was the case for the GMT model that was presented a few weeks ago, the offset crown screws down and the water resistance is rated 100m.
Turning the watch over, the green-tinted display back allows you to discover an automatic G100 calibre, the 11 ½ line calibre from La Joux-Perret. This precise, reliable movement is compatible with the ubiquitous ETA 2824 or Sellita SW-200 workhorses. It ticks at 4hz. Yet, its power reserve is more comfortable with 68 hours of autonomy. Its hacking mechanism allows for precise settings.
The movement is presented as “franco-suisse”. If its components are manufactured by La Joux Perret, it is delivered in kits to March LA.B and then fully assembled in France in the Besançon area. The decoration of the rotor is also performed in France. And there’s also a Made in France caption on the dial. The watch comes on a H-link steel bracelet in black DLC steel fitted with a jeweller’s buckle.
An attention-grabber on the wrist – AM2 Slim Corporate
The third and final model uses the same DNA but gets even bolder, showcasing an even more striking colour scheme. The original PVD treatment of its 36mm case and bracelet is a nod to one of the brand’s flagship colours, green (more precisely, a type of khaki green with subtle brown reflections). The green theme continues on the dial, with March LA.B’s signature intertwined lines, yet in a darker hue. The price is set at USD 1,895 for all three models.
