Contemporary, creative and with a partially exposed movement dialside, the newly aded references enhance the versatile and stylish Jazzmaster collection.
The Hamilton Jazzmaster collection features a good range of models in various sizes, complemented by useful functions such as date indication, power reserve, and chronograph. The dials primarily come in classic shades like silver, black, and blue, with additional green, beige, and white options. The Open Heart models in the collection have always stood out, showcasing interestingly shaped cutouts that provide a view of the movement’s parts beneath. This month, Hamilton expands the Jazzmaster collection with new Open Heart references that will surely be noticed. The brand starts the new year by offering new Midnight Blue dials, featuring an aventurine-like finish to its 36mm and 42mm range additionally, the Emerald Green dial, available in the 40mm case, debuted in the 42mm range, enhancing the collection’s appeal to those favouring larger models.
The new Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Midnight Blue and Emerald Green references come in a stainless steel case featuring a mix of polished and brushed surfaces with sapphire crystals both front and back. The 36mm models are 10mm thick with an 18mm lug, while the 42mm remain 11.5mm thick with a 22mm lug, and all are 50m water-resistant. The dial design remains the same, with the minutes track at the periphery and inward-pointing arrow-shaped indices, which are nickel-finished or gold-coloured for the Emerald Green with a gradient effect and Midnight Blue variants, respectively, with matching handsets and printed logos at 9 o’clock.
The hour and minutes hands feature thin Super-LumiNova inserts, and all in all, you get a familiar look which offers versatility with an option to easily swap a 5-link stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp for a calf leather strap with a classic pin buckle. The straps come in dark blue or patina brown colours to be paired with Midnight Blue or Emerald Green dials, respectively.
For movement, the new Jazzmaster Open Heart models rely on the H-10 automatic calibre, Hamilton’s version of Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80, equipped with a non-magnetic Nivachron balance spring. Some of the movement’s parts can be seen dial-side, while the caseback offers a view of the industrially finished calibre and its winding rotor with the brand’s text logo engraved and a cut-out Hamilton symbol.
Prices for the new Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Auto Midnight Blue and Emerald Green models start at EUR 1,065 for the 36mm Midnight Blue reference on a strap (EUR 1,145 on a bracelet), while the 42mm Midnight Blue and Emerald Green are offered for EUR 1,145 on a strap and EUR 1,225 on a steel bracelet.
