With The SUB 200T Diamonds, Doxa Adds Some Sparkle To Its Most Compact Diver

Dive in style with a gemset version of the Doxa SUB 200T

| By Xavier Markl | 2 min read |

Doxa is renowned for crafting rugged watches with a focus on functionality – tool watches, all featuring that toughness, high-water resistance or scratch-proof sapphire crystal you expect from utilitarian divers. Today, mechanical watches are as much luxury items as they are functional tools. In response to “strong demand from markets”, the brand’s compact and rather new SUB 200T is now reimagined in a more luxurious, diamond-set version.

Without surprise, for this gem-set version of the classic SUB, the brand opted for the “SUB 200T”, the smaller Doxa presented earlier this year. In tune with the times, this more compact version of the model is 39mm (41.5mm lug-to-lug) in diameter and 10.70mm in thickness.

Housed in the emblematic barrel-shaped case in stainless steel, the model retains its basic features with one major exception: the signature 60-minute and no-deco engravings on the rotating bezel have been replaced by gemstones – 107 diamonds punctuated by 13 coloured stones – orange sapphires, blue sapphires, pink sapphires, black diamonds, Paraiba tourmalines, or emeralds depending on the colour of the dial. So, you could theoretically still make use of the bezel if you want to dive in style. If not, and more likely, it will be perfect as a stylish accessory!

The dial comes in mother-of-pearl, available in 6 signature colors Professional Orange, Sharkhunter Black, Caribbean Deep Blue, Aquamarine Turquoise, White Pearl White, Sea Emerald Green… plus one new color; Ocean Dream Pink. Inside the 316L steel case is the automatic Sellita SW200-1 – the clone of the tried-and-tested ETA 2824. It displays the hours, minutes, seconds and dates. The frequency is 5Hz and its power reserve of 38 hours.

The Doxa Sub200T comes on a steel, “beads of rice” bracelet. It is secured to the wrist by a folding clasp with a wetsuit extension. The price is set at CHF 8,900 or EUR 9,400.

  1. Without a doubt , the single stupidest idea any watch maker has ever come up with. A blatant cash grab and it looks ridiculous

  2. Really that negative the comments her? I love the idea of a diver watch with diamonds. Think of the sharks next to you when diving – they would be surprised as I am !
