Awake Concept is a French brand with sustainability at its core. Its no-nonsense design now comes in a full-black version developed for the French CCT FS Special Forces. Created in 2007 and based in Pau, the Compagnie de Commandement et de Transmissions des Forces Spéciales has a mission to provide the leaders of a special forces group with the tactical, operational and strategic links needed to command operations. Following the initial 50 pieces allocated to members of the CCT FS, 50 pieces are now available for collectors and military watch enthusiasts.
This special edition Awake for the CCT FS French Special Forces comes in a stealthy black case, dial and bracelet combination. The 40mm round case is made of PVD-coated sandblasted recycled titanium. The CCT FS letters are discreetly engraved on the case band. The crown screws down and the water resistance is rated at 100m. The discreet fine-grained matte black dial has raised indexes that are brushed to minimise reflections. The use of luminescent material ensures optimal readability even in the dark. The inner bezel is engraved with the company’s call sign “ICI 01 VERT ACTION”, as well as the watch’s individual limited-series number.
Just like previous Awake watches, this special edition incorporates an encrusted NFC chip into its sapphire crystal, which is the gateway to a dedicated digital ecosystem with all information about your watch stored in the blockchain.
Flipping the watch over, the exhibition caseback shows a modified Miyota 9039 whose openworked, blackened rotor is emblazoned with the CCT FS crest. This self-winding movement runs at a 4Hz frequency and has a 42-hour autonomy when fully wound. The hacking mechanism allows for precise time-setting.
The watch is presented on a black strap made of Biopoly, a bio-based polymer, derived from castor, a natural plant. It also comes with a spare tactical NATO strap in ultra-resistant canvas.
This awake special edition for CCT FS is a limited production of 100 pieces. As mentioned, 50 pieces were produced for the CCT FS members while an additional 50-piece batch is made available for purchase.
