The Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic & Gold
Architectural contrasts and openworked movement define a bold new member of the Defy Skyline family.
At the 2026 LVMH Watch Week in Milano, Zenith presents its latest creations alongside fellow LVMH brands, with a spotlight on the Defy collection. Among the highlights is the new Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic & Gold, a striking elaboration of one of Zenith’s most distinctive contemporary models. The Defy Skyline is Zenith’s modern take on the integrated sports watch, drawing from the angular shapes of the original 1960s Defy models. The collection’s Skeleton version took this concept further, offering a high-frequency, three-dimensional, open design centred around the El Primero 3620 SK calibre. Following the stealthy black ceramic edition launched in 2024, the new reference adds a striking contrast, pairing deep black ceramic with a gold-toned skeletonised movement.
The 41mm case of the new Defy Skyline Skeleton, with its dodecagonal or 12-sided bezel, is crafted entirely from black ceramic and features a combination of brushed and polished facets. The material’s fully pigmented composition ensures enduring colour depth, while its light weight and scratch resistance make it ideal for everyday wear. The case is water-resistant to 100m.
The openworked dial with Zenith’s signature four-pointed star motif reveals the mechanics of the El Primero 3620 SK calibre. The dial and movement components are finished in a warm gold tone, contrasting with the surrounding black frame. The hour and minute hands, as well as the faceted indices, are gold-plated and coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1 for optimal legibility. At 6 o’clock, the constant 1/10th of a second indicator, a unique feature of the Defy Skyline, is directly driven by the 5 Hz escapement, completing one rotation every 10 seconds.
The El Primero 3620 SK automatic calibre is operating at 36,000 vibrations/hour, provides a 55-hour power reserve and features a silicon escape wheel and lever. The display caseback reveals the oscillating weight in the shape of the Zenith star, which winds the barrel bi-directionally.
The new Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic & Gold is worn on an integrated black ceramic bracelet. Also included is a black patterned rubber strap with a steel folding clasp, easily interchangeable thanks to Zenith’s tool-free quick strap-change system. The Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic & Gold is now available through Zenith boutiques, authorised retailers, and online, priced at CHF 16,900 / EUR 19,100 / USD 18,900.
