Over the past decade, Seiko and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) have given us a steady stream of collaborative dive watches. We have recently seen the Prospex PADI SPB501 and Prospex PADI SRPL51 with their amazing emerald green wave-like dials. Earlier years also brought special editions based on platforms such as the Samurai and Sumo. Now, the partnership celebrates two milestones at once. PADI marks its 60th anniversary in 2026, while Seiko and PADI also celebrate 10 years of working together. The occasion is marked with the new limited-edition Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 built on one of Seiko’s most recognisable dive-watch platforms: the King Turtle.

The partnership dates back to 2016, when Seiko and PADI introduced their first collaborative watches, including the SRPA21 PADI Turtle with its Pepsi bezel. A lot has happened since then, but anyone familiar with the King Turtle will know what to expect here from the Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002. Seiko has left the core design untouched, retaining the cushion-shaped case and four o’clock crown. What makes this Prospex dive watch different is the dial, which borrows the blue and red colours of PADI’s anniversary logo and adds a globe motif spread across the dial.

The blue forms the base for the dial, with red appearing on the seconds hand and the “Diver’s 200m” text at six o’clock. There is also a date display that sits at three o’clock. Seiko protects the dial with a sapphire crystal featuring a magnifier over the date and anti-reflective coating on its inner surface. Lumibrite on the hands and markers takes care of low-light timekeeping, while a matching blue ceramic bezel insert completes the whole design.

At 45mm across and 13.2mm thick, the Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 remains a sizeable dive watch, although longtime Turtle fans would probably not want it any other way. The case combines brushed and polished finishes, while its rounded cushion shape helps it wear a little easier than its stated dimensions. A screw-down crown and 200m water resistance complete this very capable dive-watch package.

Running inside and hidden from view by the solid caseback, is Seiko’s automatic calibre 4R36, operating at 21,600 vibrations/hour and offering a power reserve of 41 hours. The Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 is delivered on a stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp featuring a push-button release and diver’s extension. Seiko also includes an additional black silicone strap printed with the full “Professional Association of Diving Instructors” name. The Seiko Prospex Diver’s Watch PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002 will be available from July 2026 as a limited edition of 8,000 pieces. The price is set at EUR 750.
