The Doxa SUB 300T Aristera, The Lefty Version of the Classic Orange Diver
The first SUB automatic in the brand’s history to be designed for left-handers.
Since its creation in 1966, the Doxa SUB 300 has become one of the most emblematic dive watches around, with its quirky design and its no-deco bezel. And always with the crown at 3 o’clock… Until now. The new Doxa SUB 300T Aristera is specifically designed with the crown positioned at 9 o’clock, making it particularly convenient for left-handed wearers – or anyone who prefers to wear their watch on the right wrist, like me! This cool limited edition packs all of the brand’s signature dive watch characteristics, including a robust build, a quirky case and a vibrant orange dial. And according to Doxa, it is the first “lefty” SUB automatic.
Founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun, Doxa has achieved cult status among dive watch enthusiasts. Introduced in 1966 and made available to the public in 1967, the Doxa SUB 300 is an icon in dive watch history. It was one of the first truly purpose-designed, professional-grade dive watches available to the general public. The model is renowned for its vibrant orange dial, distinctive case shape, and no-decompression unidirectional rotating bezel. With the SUB 300T, Doxa also became a pioneer in incorporating the helium escape valve.
At Geneva Watch Days 2024, Doxa unveils a left-handed version of its emblematic model, named the SUB 300T Aristera – “Aristera” meaning “left” in Greek. This model features a crown positioned at 9 o’clock for enhanced comfort and usability for left-handed wearers. Despite this adjustment, the date display remains at 3 o’clock necessitating a modification of its movement. It is based on the Sellita SW 200-1 (clone of the ETA 2824) so you get a precise and reliable automatic workhorse operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and with a 38-hour power reserve. Last, its hacking mechanism allows for precise time setting.
The Doxa SUB 300T Aristera comes in a 42.50mm x 44.50mm case made of 316L stainless steel. Its unidirectional bezel is fitted with an aluminium insert. It operates sharply and its knurling offers great grip. Thanks to its screw-down caseback and crown, its water resistance is more than adequate at 1,200 meters. The watch is fitted with the brand’s signature orange dial. It is presented on Doxa’s bead-of-rice steel bracelet, which includes a folding clasp with a ratcheted wetsuit extension for added versatility. Additionally, the watch comes with a spare NATO strap for further customization.
The Doxa SUB 300T Professional Aristera is released in a limited edition of 300 pieces. It will be available from October 2024 with the brand’s retailers and on pre-order on the Doxa website. The price is set at EUR 2,490.

The Doxa Sub 300T is a fantastic watch, I own one and wear it everyday. However, rotating the case 180 degrees so the crown ends up on the left is hardly worthy of an article. The Doxa story has been told so many times already. I wonder what the owners of the brand will do to the 300T next, a pointless exhibition case back perhaps???
I love the 300T, but I can’t understand why they haven’t yet released a slimmer version of it using the case of the Doxa Army. It seems like such a no-brainer!
this is the best tool watch and best priced
