The Summer-Ready Citizen Tsuyosa Shore, now with Rotating Bezel

It doesn't turn the Tsuyosa into a dive watch, but that rotating bezel certainly gives it all the credentials of a summer-ready watch.

Ever since its introduction in 2022, the Citizen Tsuyosa collection has left its mark on the accessible, sporty-chic, automatic watch market. In a nutshell, it is one of the most advisable models for anyone looking for a fairly-priced, stylished and well-built watch. Over the years, we’ve seen several evolutions, with new dial colours, a smaller diameter with the Tsuyosa 37 and, recently, a slightly more upmarket evolution with the Tsuyosa 60 Automatic. And now, following the reveal of the seconde/seconde/ collab, it’s time for the Tsuyosa to get its summer attire. More water-resistant, fun new colours inspired by the sea and an unprecedented rotating bezel, here are the attributes to make the new Citizen Tsuyosa Shore collection another commercial success.

The perfect companions for active lifestyles… Well, this is how Citizen describes these new Tsuyosa Shore models. Well, there are a few critical changes to the basic concept of the Tsuyosa 40mm that make quite a difference, no doubt about that. Up to the point of creating a dive version? Not entirely, but surely it marks several points in the summer watch game.

Several key elements of the Tsuyosa 40mm have been kept, starting with the model’s middle case, the overall 1980s shape of the watch, its integrated style and its combination of sporty and elegant elements. These Shore editions of the Tsuyosa retain the model’s traditional 40mm diameter, the same brushed surfaces with polished accents, a recessed crown at 4 o’clock (still push-pull) and a sapphire crystal on top with a magnifier over the date. In the same vein, the caseback is still screwed and transparent, while the watch retains its 3-link steel bracelet.

So what are the differences? Let’s start with the obvious addition of a unidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale over a metallic insert. And yes, it does change the look of the Tsuyosa drastically and gives it a much sportier edge and the summer vibe I was talking about. The insert is colour-matched with the dial. Second change, the watch is now water-resistant to 100m, compared to 50m for the classic versions with a smooth steel bezel. Again, it’s not only about the looks, but it has the specs to back up its style. Last, the consequence of these updates is a slightly thicker watch altogether, measuring 12.50mm instead of 11.70mm.

As for the dial, no major evolutions. The base is still sunray-brushed, and both the applied hour markers and the hands are coated with luminous material. One slight evolution concerns the minute track, which features a detailed sub-second track, as well as the handset, which features larger H/M hands and a lollipop seconds hand. Four different editions of the Citizen Tsuyosa Shore are released. First, two full steel watches with either a navy blue dial and bezel, or a lighter, almost turquoise marine blue edition. Next is a bold edition mixing coral red for the dial and bezel, with a bi-colour case and bracelet – thanks to a partial yellow gold colour plating. Last, the Tsuyosa Shore can be ordered in full yellow gold colour plating with a moss green dial and bezel.

Inside the case, no major evolutions, as these Tsuyosa Shore rely on the same in-house, automatic Calibre 8210 as the standard Tsuyosa 40mm and Tsuyosa 37mm. This solid movement beats at 3Hz and stores about 42h of power reserve. All models are worn on a steel bracelet with a folding clasp, either uncoated, with partial YG coating, or fully coated to match the case.

Available from February 2026 and part of the permanent collection, the new Citizen Tsuyosa Shore retails for EUR 329 in steel (blue models), EUR 349 for the two-tone coral red version, or EUR 359 for the moss green edition. For more details, please visit CitizenWatch.eu or CitizenWatch-Global.com.
