Chopard L.U.C Unveils Three New Calavera-Inspired Watches
A trio of L.U.C watches celebrating Mexican culture, presented at SIAR.
With Halloween just around the corner, Chopard has unveiled three special edition watches during the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR), Latin America’s most important annual watch fair held in Mexico City. The famous Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations in Mexico are renowned for memento mori art, including the famous Calaveras (representation of human skulls) that animate the festivities, now a recurring theme at Chopard.
L.U.C Full Strike Día de los Muertos
This one-off version of Chopard’s award-winning L.U.C Full Strike is presented in a white gold case entirely hand-engraved with blackened details and a white gold dial depicting a Calavera. A compendium of innovative horological solutions, the L.U.C Full Strike is endowed with innovative sapphire crystal gongs that give this minute repeater its unique crystalline sound.

The L.U.C Skull One Calavera Pop Art is the third piece in the brand’s L.U.C Skull One series, a collection inspired by the Day of the Dead. Released in a 25-piece, 40mm DLC-steel limited edition, the model stands out with its vivid pop-art-inspired Calavera. The watch is powered by the automatic L.U.C 96.53-L with a micro-rotor.

The third timepiece celebrating Calaveras on the occasion of the SIAR is a unique piece, the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 jumping hour made for the TimeForArt auction. For the occasion, the 40mm pink gold watch displays a hand-engraved Calavera on its dial with an eye patch and jumping hours displayed in the skull’s mouth.
