The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission Brings the Earth and Mars to the Wrist

The BR-03 Space Mission has the sort of dial you might find yourself checking even when you don’t actually need to know the time.

Earth, the Moon, Mars, and a spacecraft… Sounds like Christopher Nolan is cooking up another mind-bending film, but it is actually the new Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission. Following the BR-03 Astro from 2025, this new edition has a dial that takes the concept of space-time rather literally. The watch has no conventional hands. Instead, a transparent rotating disc carries images of Earth and the Moon, with the Moon marking the hours. There is also a spacecraft that travels around the dial to indicate the minutes.

The spacecraft on the Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission is inspired by the Vortex, a reusable spacecraft concept developed by Dassault Aviation. It appears to be taking off, with Earth and the Moon in the background against a black aventurine plate dotted with tiny stars. A small red dot also marks Mars. Together, these elements make the dial feel like a miniature space scene, with much to look at beyond the usual hands and indexes.

Despite the unusual display, reading the time is fairly straightforward. The Earth and Moon are printed on a transparent rotating disc that moves like an hour hand, with the Moon indicating the hours. Then there is the Vortex-inspired spacecraft that shows you the minutes with its nose as it moves around the dial. So, while the display looks quite different from a conventional watch, it works much like a two-hand watch. The scene changes as the disc and spacecraft move, giving you a slightly different view each time you check the time.

The 41mm case is made of micro-blasted black ceramic and measures 10.6mm thick. Inside the BR-03 Space Mission is the automatic BR-CAL.325 movement (Sellita SW330 base). This is the same robust movement that also powers the BR-05 GMT models. It runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a 54-hour power reserve. Bell & Ross is completing the model with a black rubber strap as well as an ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap, both secured with a steel pin buckle finished in matte black PVD.

The BR-03 Space Mission is limited to 999 pieces and priced at EUR 4,990. For more information, please visit bellross.com.
