Just about a week ago, ArtyA was experimenting with moissanite cases and suspended tourbillons, sticking to its habit of working with unusual materials and bold designs. Now, the brand moves from materials to mechanics with the new Complexity, showcased at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026. The key feature here is what ArtyA calls a world-first double inclined tourbillon system, with two tourbillons placed at 12 and 6 o’clock and linked by a differential to balance their performance. It sounds technical, and it is, but the idea is simple, which is improving precision while putting on a mechanical show.

In a traditional tourbillon, the balance rotates in a fixed plane, correcting timing errors in one position. On the Complexity, ArtyA tilts the axis so it moves in a cone rather than a flat circle, helping correct errors in more positions. It then uses two of these, linked by a differential that splits energy evenly between them, so both regulators run in sync. There is also no real dial in the traditional sense because everything is built around the two tourbillons. Both the tourbillons sit under raised sapphire domes that act like magnifying lenses.

The Complexity is offered in two versions: Transparent Sapphire and Pigeon’s Blood Ruby. ArtyA also offers two dial finishes, with the more textured Griffe and the cleaner Matte execution. The Griffe version uses a dark rhodium-treated surface with engraved lines going out from the centre. On the other hand is the Matte version that goes the opposite way, with a uniform blasted finish. In both cases, polished applied markers stand out clearly against the textured base.

Both synthetic ruby and sapphire cases follow ArtyA’s Curvy design, wrapping around the movement like a transparent shell. From the side, the case shows a curved profile and even the crown is cut from sapphire to match. Limited to just nine pieces, the watch is fitted with an integrated rubber strap, matched to the tone of the case and middle section.

Turn the watch over, and the movement is fully visible, offering quite a spectacular look at how the differential connects the two tourbillons. Developed with Purtec Sàrl, a Vallorbe-based specialist in high-complication movements, the manually wound calibre beats at 21,600vph and delivers a power reserve of around 50 hours. Each tourbillon completes a full rotation in 30 seconds, with both running in different directions.

The overall construction of the movement is robust with better shock resistance. Finishing stays clean and modern too, with brushed surfaces and polished edges that further add contrast to the overall aesthetic. The ArtyA Complexity is priced at CHF 190,000 in sapphire and CHF 220,000 in ruby. For more information, please visit artya.com.
