Glashütte Original Senator Navigator Perpetual

Glashütte Original has created some very nice new watches again and these will be shown to visitors, press and dealers during the Baselworld watch fair. Three of the new watches have already been shown in the pre-release and i’m very impressed. Let me show these three watch…

Senator Navigator Perpetual Calendar

Personally i just love the Senator Navigators and i think Glashütte Original offers with this serie one of the most beautiful pilot watches in the world. The newest addition in this serie is the Senator Navigator Perpetual Calendar. Like all Senator Navigators this Perpetual Calendar has a 44mm stainless steel case and a a saphire crystal. The caseback is a display caseback, also with saphire crystal, and shows the incredibly beautiful automatic caliber 100-07.  The markers on the matte black dial are painted with superluminova, which make it highly luminiscent.

The typical Glashütte panorama date has a black background with white numbers. The day indicator is close to 10 and the month is close to 2. Between 7 and 8 Glashütte Original positioned the moonphase and the leap year indicator is at 12. Finally a pilot watch that doesn’t have to be adjust before march 1st 2100, so if you plan to fly for the rest of your live you won’t have to adjust anything.

Glashütte Original also thought of the ladies and created the Lady Serenade Chronograph. This chronograph is 38mm in diameter and has a bezel with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds (1.17 ct). Even the crown has a brilliant-cut diamond.
The latest variation of the Lady Serenade Chronograph is equipped with a caliber 39-34, with a power reserve of 40 hours. Of course the Lady Serenade Chronograph has a saphire crystal on both sides, revealing the beautiful movement with swan-neck fine adjustment, a three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing and double sunburst decorations.

Senator Meissen Tourbillon

Although not all new watches are released yet, for now my favorite is the Glashütte Original Senator Meissen Tourbillon.  The procelain dial is one of the trademarks of Glashütte Original’s classic dresswatches. Glashütte Original has a long-time collaboration with the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, resulting in some extraordinairy beauties.

The automatic manufacture Caliber 94-11has a 48-hour power reserve and is visible through the display caseback. The Senator Meissen Tourbillon has a one minute flying tourbillon, in 1920 invented by Alfred Helwig, who served as an instructor at the German School of Watchmaking in Glashütte. This beauty is housed in a 40 mm rose gold case with saphire crystal on both sides. Painting the miniscule roman numbers on the meissen dial takes 8 hours! To make the flying tourbillon visible a hole was made in the 0,8 mm thin porcelain dial.
