For several years, Union Glashütte has celebrated its partnership with the Sachsen Classic historic rally through annual limited editions based on the retro-styled Noramis Chronograph. For the 23rd edition of the Sachsen Classic, taking place on 14 and 15 August 2026, the German manufacture shifts the spotlight to the Averin Chronograph, whose angular, assertive square case recalls the Monaco, and dashboard-inspired dial make it a natural choice for a watch paying tribute to classic motorsport. Produced in a limited run, the new Averin Chronograph Sachsen Classic 2026 combines familiar specifications with a distinctive new colour scheme inspired by racing cars of the 1970s and 1980s.

The stainless steel case keeps the design and dimensions of the regular Averin Chronograph series, measuring 41mm by 41mm, 15.45mm thick, with a 49.47mm lug-to-lug distance. Its brushed and polished surfaces accentuate the sharp geometry, while the domed sapphire crystal follows the contours of the square case. The crown is flanked by two rectangular chronograph pushers. A sapphire display back reveals the movement, and the case is water-resistant to 100m.

This new limited edition distinguishes itself through a fresh dial execution. The embossed tile-pattern white dial gains contrast from bold stripes in signal red, Nardo grey and Daytona grey, colours associated with historic racing liveries. The square subdials for the small seconds and 30-minute chronograph counter continue the instrument-panel theme, and the central chronograph seconds hand is lacquered in bright red. Time is indicated with nickel-plated hour and minutes hands with Super-LumiNova coating. A date window is positioned at 6 o’clock, maintaining the layout introduced on the current Averin.

The watch is powered by the calibre UNG-27.S2, Union Glashütte’s automatic chronograph movement based on the Valjoux 7750. Equipped with a cam-operated chronograph mechanism, a silicon balance spring and a stop-seconds function, it runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a power reserve of at least 65 hours.

The new Averin Chronograph Sachsen Classic 2026 is offered with two straps: a bright red rubber strap and a grey perforated leather strap with red lining. Both feature the quick-change system.

The Union Glashütte Averin Chronograph Limited Edition Sachsen Classic 2026 is limited to 350 numbered pieces and will retail for EUR 3,700. For more information, please visit Union-Glashuette.com.
