Tissot has long been deeply connected to the world of cycling, serving as an official timekeeper for major international races – including the prestigious Tour de France and Vuelta a España – as well as for the Union Cycliste Internationale. Beyond precise race timing, the brand partners with leading events and collaborates with professional riders such as Primoz Roglic as ambassadors. The brand reaffirms its ties to the cycling world by unveiling a special-edition watch collection in collaboration with one of the most prestigious road-bike manufacturers, Pinarello.

In this respect, Pinarello is certainly a superb partner for a watch brand connected to the cycling universe. Founded in 1952 in Treviso, Pinarello is often considered the Ferrari of the cycling world. This iconic Italian maker is known for the design, engineering and performance of its road bikes… and a price tag that matches this elite status.

The special edition watch clearly draws inspiration from the Pinarello racing universe, beginning with the use of forged carbon for the 42mm case – a reference to the lightweight and resilient material found in high-performance bike frames. It also features a distinctive, dynamic, asymmetrical case design with the crown originally positioned at 10 o’clock. This original detail draws inspiration from Pinarello’s ForkFlap, the aerodynamic protruding lip or fin on the front fork on some of their high-end road bikes. The box-shaped sapphire crystal adds a sophisticated sense of depth. True to its sporty character, the watch is water-resistant to 100m.

The cycling DNA is further suggested by the grey-grained dial’s asphalt effect. The black-nickel baton indexes are fitted with Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility in all conditions. Besides these distinctive design cues, the co-branding remains relatively discreet with no visible Pinarello logo on the face of the watch – the Italian bike manufacturer’s name is engraved on the flank and the back of the case only, while the second hand’s counterweight is shaped in a Pinarello P.

Turning the watch over, the see-through caseback allows you to discover the now-familiar Powermatic 80 movement, an evolution of the ETA 2824 revised with a 3Hz frequency, a reworked kinetic chain and a Nivachron hairspring. This results in a comfortable 80-hour power reserve and a tried-and-tested movement with superior resistance to magnetism. The stop-second mechanism allows for precise time setting. Its accuracy is certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), the official Swiss body that certifies the accuracy of chronometers.

The Tissot Pinarello dynamic aesthetic is complemented by an integrated rubber strap. Thanks to the quick-change system, it can be swapped in seconds with the additional leather strap provided with the watch for a more elegant look.

The collaboration goes even further, as Pinarello has decided to create a special-edition bike for the occasion. It is offered as part of an exclusive package together with the watch. The Tissot Pinarello special edition retails for CHF 1,355. For more details, please visit pinarello.com and tissotwatches.com.
